I don't generally read poetry, but Walt Whitman's poetry strikes me a certain way. This is honestly, the only poetry collection I've read all the way through. I really enjoy Whitman's use of words and my favorite poem was "Out of the Cradle Endlessly Rocking." Beautiful. ( )

I didn't read them all. Somehow they remind me of Jack London. Strong imagery, though not as hopeless, celebrating the common. Perhaps this is great poetry, but it is too egocentric for my taste. A little goes a long way. I did enjoy the one about Lincoln fallen though. ( )
