contained in this volume is paged independently of the others, the index must
necessarily accord therewith. The column of Roman Notation designates
the different Numbers of the "Series" (viz., 1, 2, 3, 4;) and the figures refer to

reid," the characters IV. show that it will be found in No. 4, and the figures
