An Act to continue and render more effectual feveral Acts of Parliament for repairing the Highways from that Part of Counter's Bridge which lies in the Parish of Kensington, in the County of Middlefex, leading through the Towns of Brentford and Hounflow to the Powder Mills in the Road to Staines, and to Cranford Bridge, in the faid County, in the Road to Colnbrook; and for repairing, turning, or altering the Highway leading from the faid Road, at or near the End of Sion Lane, to the Town of Isleworth, in the faid County, and from thence to a Gate on the South Side of Tedington Field; and alfo the Highway leading out of the faid Great Road, near Smallberry Green Turnpike, to a House known

by the Sign of the George in the Town of Ifleworth aforefaid; and for lighting and watering Part of the faid Highways.

HEREAS by feveral Acts made in the third and tenth Years of the Reign of his Majesty King George the First, and the eleventh Year of the Reign of his late Majefty, feveral Tolls or Duties and Powers were granted for repairing the Highways from that Part of Counter's Bridge. which lies in the Parish of Kenfington, in the County of Middlefex, to the Powder Mills in the Road to Staines, and to Cranford Bridge, in the faid County, in the Road to Colnbrook :

And whereas the Trustees appointed in and by the faid Acts have from time to time proceeded in the Execution thereof, and the Sum of fix thousand fix hundred Pounds is now owing upon the Credit of the Tolls or Duties thereby granted; which Sum cannot be repaid, and

the faid Highways be effectually repaired and kept in Repair, unless the Terms and Powers granted and continued by the faid Acts be prolonged and enlarged :

And whereas the Highway lead-Additional ings out of the great Western Road, Roads. at or near a Publick House known by the Sign of the Coach and Horfes, through Sion Lane and the Towns and Parishes of Ifleworth, Twickenbam, and Tedington, in the County of Middlefex aforefaid, to the Gate on the South Side of Tedington Field in the Road to Kingston Bridge, and alfo the Highway called Pound Lane or Lower Wood Lane leading out of the faid great Western Road, near Smallberry Green Turnpike, to a Publick House known by the Sign of the George, in the Town of IЛleworth aforefaid, and alfo Part of the faid great Western Road lying Weft of the Highway directed to be repaired by the faid Acts, and East of the Turnpike Highway leading to Colnbrook, are in a very ruinous Condition, in many Places very B 2
