UNITED STATES GEORGE WASHINGTON BICENTENNIAL COMMISSION President of the United States HERBERT HOOVER Chairman Vice President of the United States, CHARLES CURTIS Speaker of the House of Representatives, NICHOLAS LONGWORTH EXECUTIVE OFFICES: WASHINGTON BUILDING, WASHINGTON, D. C. DEPOSITED BY THE NITED STATES OF AMERICA GEORGE WASHINGTON PROGRAMS, PAPERS, AND PAMPHLETS AVAILABLE ON REQUEST WITHOUT CHARGE The personality, character, and achievements of George Washington are portrayed in twelve different programs issued by the George Washington Bicentennial Commission for patriotic societies, clubs, and all organizations, schools, colleges, and other educational institutions. The twelve programs are divided into forty-eight subtopics. On each of these topics a paper has been prepared which is interesting and informative. The papers supplement each other, but each is complete in itself. They bring out the sources of talents and qualities contributing to the harmonious union of intellectual and moral powers which George Washington possessed and show, step by step, the development of these powers. The Commission has also issued a series of sixteen George Washington pamphlets prepared under the direction of Dr. Albert Bushnell Hart, each of which presents some aspect of Washington's life, environment, or activities. For those who prepare their own papers, addresses, and for research, study, and general reading, the papers and the pamphlets issued by the Commission will be of great assistance. |
