AN ACT FOR BETTER PAVING, DRAINING, LIGHTING,
CLEANSING, SUPPLYING WITH WATER, REGULATING
IN REGARD TO MARKETS, INTERMENTS, HACKNEY
CARRIAGES, AND OTHER PURPOSES, AND OTHERWISE
IMPROVING THE BOROUGH OF CHELTENHAM IN
THE COUNTY OF GLOUCESTER. [28th May 1852.]

HEREAS an Act was passed in the Session of Parliament held in the First and Second Years of the Reign of King George the Fourth, intituled An Act for better paring, lighting, 1 and 2 G 4. c. cleansing, watching, and improving the Town of Cheltenham in the 121. County of Gloucester, and for regulating the Police thereof, and for removing and preventing Nuisances and Annoyances therein: And whereas the Powers and Provisions of the said recited Act have been found insufficient for the Purposes thereby intended to be effected, and it is expedient that the same should be repealed, and that more effectual Powers should be granted in lieu thereof, and that Provisions should also be made for regulating Markets and Fairs, and Interments, and otherwise for the Improvement of the Borough of Cheltenham: And whereas such Objects cannot be effected without the Authority of Parliament: May it therefore please Your Majesty that it may be enacted; and be it enacted by
