The principal Paffages, which may feem to differ from the foregoing Doctrine, confidered.

'Tis not reconcilable to the Doctrine of Scripture, (Part 1; nor to the fore-cited Expreffions in the Liturgy, ( Part III, Ch. I;) to underftand This Doxology as an afcribing of glory in the fame Manner, in the fame Senfe, and upon the fame Accounts, either to Three co-ordinate Perfons, (which is a Plurality of Gods ;) or to One and the fame Perfon under Three Denominations, (which is confounding or deftroying the Perfons, with Sabellius and Socinus:) But it ought to be understood, as an Acknowledgment of the Honour due to Each Perfon diftinctly, upon Account of their respective Characters, Powers and Offices: To the Father, as the original Author and Supreme Lord of all: To the Son, as That divine Perfon, who when he was in the Form of God, and had glory with God before the World was, yet, according to the good pleasure of the Father, willingly emptied himself of that glory, and took upon him the Form of a Servant. and was made in the likeness of Man, and fuffered
