Luke xii: 10. And whofoever shall speak a Word against the Son of Man, it fhall be forgiven him: But unto him that blafphemeth against the Holy Ghost, it fhall not be forgiven.

Hebrews x. 26, 27, 29. For if we Sin willfully after we have received the Knowledge of the Truth, there remaineth no more Sacrifice for Sins. Prefumptuous Sins, are Crimes of a large Size, Which every faithful Christian should despise. Refift the Devil, and he wilt from you flee. Shun every Sin, of whatever Degree.

AMES iv. 8, 9, 10. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you: Cleanfe your Hands, ye Sinners; and purify your Hearts, ye Double-minded. Be afflicted and mourn, and weep: Let your Laughter be turned to Mourning, and your Joy to Heaviness. Humble your felves in the Sight of the Lord, and he fhall lift you up.

John vi. 37, 38. All that the Father giveth me fhall come unto me; and he that cometh unto me, I will in no wife caft out.

Matth. xi. 28, 29, 30. Come unto me all ye that Labour, and are heavy Laden, and I will give ye reft. Take my Yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in Heart: And ye fhall find reft unto your Souls: for my Yoke is eafy, and my Burden is light..

2 Peter iii. 9. The Lord is not flack concerning his Promife, as fome Men count Slacknefs: But is Long fuffering to us-ward; not willing that any fhould perish, but that all should come to Repentance.

Prov. xxviii. 13. He that covereth his Sins, fhall not profper, but whofo confeffeth and forfaketh hem fhall have Mercy.

1 John i. 9. If we confefs our Sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our Sins, and to cleanse us from all Unrighteousness.

Pfalm xxxii. 5, 6. I acknowledged my Sin unto thee; And mine Iniquity, have I not hid: I faid, I will confefs my Tranfgreffions unto the Lord, and thou forgaveft the Iniquity of my Sin. For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a Time, when thou mayeft be found : Surely in the Floods of great Waters, they shall not come nigh him.

Ifaiah Ixiii. 24. And it fhall come to pafs; that before they call, I will anfwer, and whilft they are yet speaking, I will hear.

Ifaiah Iv. 3.6, 7. Incline your ear, and come unto me, hear, and your Soul fhall live, and I will make an everlafting Covenant with you; even the fure Mercies of David. Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him, while he is near. Let the Wicked forfake his Way: And the unrighteous Man his Thoughts, and let him return to the Lord, and he will have Mercy on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Ezekiel xviii. 21, 23. But if the Wicked will turn from all his Sins, that he hath committed, and keep all my Statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he fhall furely live: He fhall not die. Have I any pleasure at all, that the Wicked fhould die, faith the Lord God; and not that he fhould return from his Ways and live?

Ezekiel xviii. 30, 31, 32. Therefore I will judge you, O Houfe of Ifrael! Every one according to his Ways, faith the Lord God: Re-pent and turn yourfelves from all your Tranfgreffions; fo Iniquity fhall not be your Ruin. Caft away from you all your Tranfgreffions, whereby you have tranfgreffed; and make you a new Heart, and a new Spirit, for why will ye die, O houfe of Ifrael? For I have no pleasure in the Death of him that dieth, faith the Lord God: Wherefore turn your felves and live. K 5

Matth.

Matth. ii. 13. They that be whole need not a Phyfician, but they that are fick; but go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have Mercy and not Sacrifice, for I am not come to call the Righteous, but Sinners to Repentance.

Holea vi. 1. Come now and let us return unto the Lord: For he hath torn, and he will heal us, he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.

1 Tim. i. 15, 16. This is a Faithful faying, and worthy of all Acceptation, that Chrift Jefus 'came into the World to fave Sinners; of whom I am Chief. Howbeit, for this Cause I obtained Mercy, that in me Chrift Jefus might fhew forth all Long-fuffering, for a Pattern to them, that should hereafter believe on him to Life everlasting.

Ecclefi. ii. 10, 11. Look at the Generations of old, and fee; did ever any truft in the Lord, and was confounded? or did abide in his Fear, and was forfaken? or whom did he ever defpife that called upon him? For the Lord is full of Compaffion, and Mercy: Long-fuffering and very pitiful, and forgiveth Sins, and faveth in time of Affliction.

Ifaiah i. 16, 17, 18. Wash ye, make ye clean, put away the Evil of your Doings from before mine Eyes, ceafe to do evil, learn to do well; feek Judgment, relieve the Oppreffed, judge the Fatherlefs, plead for the Widow. Come now and let us reafon together, faith the Lord Though your Sins be as Scarlet, they fhall be as white as Snow: Though they be red like Crimson, they fhall be as Wool.

Joel ii. 12, 13. Therefore alfo now, faith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your Heart, and with Falting, and with Weeping, and with Mourning. And rent your Hearts, and not your Garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: For he is gracious and merciful, flow to anger,

and of great Kindness, and repenteth him of the Evil.

Jerem. vi. 16. Thus, faith the Lord, ftand ye in the Ways and fee, and ask for the old Paths, and walk therein, and ye fhall find reft unto your Souls.

Come let us Mourn and all our Sins Lament,
And now, of them immediately repent,
And let our inward Thoughts to God retire,
That fo, we may his great Goodness admire,
Who hath fuffered us to live fo long in Sin,
By whofe great Juftice we now might have

been

Caft down to Hell for our Unworthiness,

But his Mercy is very great, we must confess,
In holy Scripture, we may plainly fee,
That if we do return immediately,

Unto the Lord, and all our Sins forfake,
Chrift for us then, will Interceffion make.

Imothy ii. 14. 16. 23. Of these Things put them in Remembrance, charging them before the Lord, that they ftrive not about Words to no Profit, but to the fubverting of the Hearers.
