Heb. xii. 16. But to do good, and to communicate forget not: For with fuch Sacrifices God is well pleafed..

1 John iii. 17. But whofo hath this World's good, and feeth his Brother have need, and shutteth up his Bowels of Compaffion from him, how dwelleth the Love of God in him?

Tobit iv. 7, 8, 9, 16. Give Alms of thy Subftance, and when thou giveft Alms, let not thine Eye be envious, neither turn thy Face from any Poor, and the Face of God fhall not be turned away from thee. If thou haft Abundance, give Alms accordingly: If thou haft but little, be not afraid to give according to that little; for thou layeft up a good Treafure for thy felf against the Day of Neceffity. Give of thy Bread to the Hungry, and of thy Garments to them that are naked; : and according to thine Abundance give Alms, and let not thine Eye be envious, when thou giveft Alms.

Prov. xix. 17. He that hath pity upon the Poor, lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given, will he pay him again..

Heb. xiii. 3. Remember them that are in Bonds, as bound with them; and them which fuffer Adverfity, as being your felves alfo in the Body.

Ecclefiaftic. xxix. 9-13. Help. the Poor, for the Commandment's fake, and turn him not away because of his Poverty. Lofe thy Money for thy Brother and thy Friend, and let it not ruft under a Stone, to be loft. Shut up Alms in thy Store

Deut. xv. 7, 8, 11. Prov. xi. 25. The liberal Soul fhall be made fat; and he that watereth, fhall be watered also himself.

Eccleficfic. xxxv. 9, 10. In all thy Gifts fhew a chearful Countenance, and dedicate thy Tythes with Gladness. Give unto the most High, according as he hath enriched thee, and as thou haft gotten, give with a chearful Eye.

Prov. iii. 9, 10. Honour the Lord with thy Substance, and with the firit. Fruits of all thine Increase. So fhall thy Barns be filled with Plenty, and thy Preffes fhall burft out with new Wine.

Ecclefiaftic. iv. 1o. Be as a Father unto the Fatherlefs, and inftead of a Hufband unto their Mother: So fhalt thou be as the Son of the most High, and he shall love thee more than thy Mother doth.

Prou. xxviii. 27. He that giveth to the Poor, fhall not lack: But he that hideth his Eyes, fhall have many a Curse.

Job xxix. 12., &c. Because I delivered the Poor that cried, and the Fatherlefs, and him that had none to help him, the Bleffing of him that was ready to perish, came upon me; and I caused the Widow's Heart to fing for Joy. I put on Righteoufnefs, and it cloathed me: My Judgment was as a Robe and a Diadem. I was Eyes to the Blind, and Feet was I to the Lame. I was a Father to the Poor; and the Caufe which I knew not, I fearched out.

Ifai. lviii. 10, 11. And if thou draw out thy Soul to the Hungry, and fatisfy the afflicted Soul' then fhall thy Light rife in Obfcurity, and thy Darkness be as the Noon-Day. And the Lord fhall guide thee continually, and fatisfy thy Soul in Drought, and make fat thy Bones; and thou fhalt be like a watered Garden, and like a Spring of Water, whofe Waters fail not.

Matt. xxv. 34, 41. Come, ye bleffed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the Foundation of the World. For I was an hungred, and ye gave me Meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a Stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye cloathed me: I was fick, and ye vifited me: I was in Prison, and ye came unto me. them, Verily I fay unto you, in as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my Brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Matth. x. 42. And whofoever fhall give to drink,, unto one of thefe little Ones, a Cup of cold Water only, in the Name of a Difciple, verily, I fay unto you, he fhall in no wife lofe his Reward.

The Man fhall find Comfort, Safety and Reft,
Who is inclin'd to pity the diftrefs'd :

Man was not born to serve himself alone ;
But unto all his Kindness should be shown.

Texts which shew that all Chriftians fhould be inclineable to live in Amity, Peace, and Love.

Phefians v. 1, 2. Be ye therefore Followers of God, as dear Children; and walk in Love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himfelf for us.

1 Pet. i. 22. Seeing you have purified your Souls in obeying the Truth through the Spirit, unto unfeigned Love of the Brethren; fee that you love one another with a pure Heart fervently.

Pet. ii. 17. Honour all Men ; Love the Brotherhood.

Rom. xii. 10. Be kindly affectioned one to another; with brotherly Love, in Honour preferring one another.

Rom. xiii. 8, 10. Owe no Man any thing, but to love one another; for he that loveth another, hath fulfilled the Law. Love worketh no ill to his Neighbour: Therefore Love is the fulfilling of the Law.

John xiii. 34.

A new Commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye alfo love one another.

1 The. iv. 9. But as touching brotherly Love, ye need not that I write unto you; for ye yourfelves are taught of God to love one another.

Ephef. iv. 1, 2, 3. I therefore, the Prisoner of the Lord, befeech you that you walk worthy of the Vocation wherewith ye are called, with all Lowlinefs and Meeknefs, with Long-fuffering, forbearing one another in Love; endeavouring to keep the Unity of the Spirit in the Bond of Peace.

Gal. v. 14. For all the Law is fulfill'd in one Word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy Neighbour as thy felf:

John xv. 12, 17. This is my Commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you. Thefe things I command you, that ye love one

another.

Heb. xiii. 1. Let brotherly Love continue.

1 John iii. 23. And this is his Commandment, that we fhould believe on the Name of his Son Jefus Chrift, and love one another, as he gave us Commandment.

1 John ii. ro, 1r. He that loveth his Brother abideth in the Light, and there is none Occafion of Stumbling in him. But he that hateth his Brother, is in Darkness, and walketh in Darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that Darkness hath llinded his Eyes.

1 John iv. 7,-ri. Beloved, let us love one another: for Love is of God; and every one that loveth, is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not, knoweth not God; for God is Love. Beloved, if God fo loved us, we ought alfo to love one another. And this Commandment have we from him, that he who loveth God, love his Brother alfo.
