Saiah v, 11, 22, Woe unto them that rife up early in the Morning, that they may follow ftrong Drink, that continue until Night, 'till Wine inflame them. Woe unto them that are mighty to drink Wine, and Men of Strength to mingle ftrong Drink.

Proverbs 23, 29, to 31. Who hath Woe? Who hath Sorrow? who hath Contentions: Who hath Babling? Who hath Wounds without Cause? Who hath redness of Eyes? They that tarry long at the Wine; they that go to feek mixt Wine. Look not thou upon the Wine when it is red, when it giveth his Colour in the Cup, when it moveth itfelf aright; at the laft it biteth like a Serpent and ftingeth like an Adder. Be not amongft Winebibbers, amongst riotous Eaters of Flefh; for the Drunkard and the Glutton fhall come to Poverty. Proverbs xxi, 1. Wine is a Mocker, ftrong Drink is raging; and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wife.

Ifaiah, xxviii. 7. But they alfo have erred thro Wine, and thro' ftrong Drink, are out of the way: the Priest and the Prophet have erred through ftrong Drink, they are fwallowed up of Wine: They are out of the Way through ftrong Drink.

Ecclefiafticus, xxxi, 28 Wine measurably drunk, and in Seafon, bringeth Gladness of the Heart, and

Chearfulness of the Mind; but Wine drunken with Excefs, maketh Bitterness of the Mind, with brawling and quarrelling. Drunkenness encreaseth the Rage of a Fool'till heffend, it diminisheth Strength and maketh Wounds. Rebuke not thy Neighbour at the Wine, and defpife him not in his Mirth give him no defpiteful Words, and prefs not upon him with urging him to drink.

Habakkuk, ii. 15. Woe unto him that giveth his Neighbour Drink, that putteth thy Bottle to him, and makeft him drunken alfo, that thou mayeft look on their Nakedness.

Ephef., v. 11. And be not drunk with Wine, wherein is Excels.

Ecclefiafticus xix. 1. A Labouring Man that is given to Drunkennefs, fhall not be rich,

Sobriety is that which will fecure

You from Disorders Drunkards do endure:
How pleasant glides away the Moments hence,

Proverbs vi. 26 to 32. For by Means of a whorish Woman, a Man is brought to a piece of Bread, and the Adulterefs will hunt for the precious Life. Can a Man take Fire in his Bofom, and his Cloaths not be burnt? Can one go upon hot Coals and his Feet not be burnt? So he that goeth in to hisNeigh.bour's Wife, whofoever toucheth her fhall not be Innocent. But whofo commiteth Adultery with a Woman lacketh Understanding: He that doth it deftroyeth his own Soul.
