A Sentimental Journey Through France and Italy

The artist has altered a copy of 'A sentimental journal through France and Italy' by Laurence Stern with drawings on the front and back cover and throughout. The cover is painted white and nude figures drawn in pen and ink are shown riding a tandem bicycle on a beach. All of the book's original illustrations except one are obscured, and ten additional pages with captions and pen and ink drawings are tipped-in. Pencil drawings and hand printed text are also included on the book's blank pages and end papers. Several pages also include designs in gold paint.
