The Senate bill (No. 508, Int. No. 492) entitled "An act to amend the Education Law, in relation to qualifying certificates in the case of students who entered the military service of the United States," was read the third time.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to the final passage of said bill, the same having been printed and upon the desks of the members in its final form for three calendar legislative days, and it was decided in the affirmative, a majority of all the Senators elected voting in favor thereof, and three-fifths being present as follows:

Mr. Antin moved that the committee on public education be discharged from the consideration of Assembly bill (No. 964, Rec. No. 78) entitled "An act to amend the Education Law, prohibiting discrimination in the employment of public school teachers based

on sex.'

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

On motion of Mr. Antin, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and said bill ordered to a third reading. Said Assembly bill was read the third time.

No. 1013) entitled "An act to amend the Education Law, in relation to powers and duties of the commissioner of education respecting the care and instruction of the blind and deaf-mutes, including supervision of the State School for the Blind and the transfer to such commissioner of the powers and duties of the State Commission for the Blind," was read the third time.

Mr. Antin moved to reconsider the vote by which said bill was lost and that this motion lie upon the table.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion to lay upon the table, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. Byrne moved that the committee on public service be discharged from the consideration of Assembly bill (No. 1077, Rec. No. 140) entitled "An act to permit the Hannawa Falls Water Power Company to consolidate with the St. Lawrence Valley Power Corporation.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

On motion of Mr. Byrne, and by unanimous consent, said bill was

substituted for Senate bill (No. 826, Int. No. 646), now on the order of third reading.
