MATTHEW XVII.

I am well pleased; hear ye [ 6 him." And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore 7 afraid. And Jesus came and touched them, and said; Arise, and be not afraid. 8 And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw 9 man, save Jesus only. And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying; Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from 10 the dead. And his dis

came down from the mountain, he charged them, that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from 10 the dead. And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean. And they asked him, saying; Why say the scribes that Elias must first come? And he answered and told them; Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought. But I say unto you, that Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him.

said unto them; Elias truly 12 'shall first come, and restore 12 all things; but I say unto you, that Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son 13 of man suffer of them. 13 Then the disciples understood, that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias; not knowing what he said. 34 While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them; and they feared as they entered into 35 the cloud. And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying; "This is my belov36 ed Son; hear him." And

of the multitude answered and said; Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit. And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him; and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away. And I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out, and they could not. He answereth, and saith unto them; O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me. And they brought him unto him. And when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed, foaming. And he asked his father; How long is it ago, since this came unto him? and he 22 said; Of a child; and oft

suffer you? bring him hith18 er to me. And Jesus rebuked the devil, and he departed out of him; and the child was cured from that 19 very hour. Then came the disciples to Jesus 19 apart, and said; Why could 20 not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them; Because of your unbelief. For verily I say unto you, if ye 20 have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain ; Remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. 21 21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out, but by prayer and fasting.

Jesus said unto him; If thou canst believe; all things are possible to him 24 that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears; I believe; help thou 25 mine unbelief. When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him;

And Jesus answering, said; O faithless and perverse generation; how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither. 42 And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his 43 father. And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God.

MARK IX. Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee; Come out of him, and enter no more 26 into him. And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him. And he was as one dead, insomuch that many said, he is 27 dead. But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.

28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately; Why could not we cast him out? 29 And he said unto them ; This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

them; The son of man shall
be betrayed into the hands

him; and the third day he

they were exceeding sorry.

And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it. For he taught his disciples, and said unto them; The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall 32 rise the third day. But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him. 33 And he came to Capernaum.

24 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said; Doth not 25 your master pay tribute? He saith; Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying; What thinkest thou, Simon? Of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of
