The Consuls of the four protecting powers, France, Great Britain, Italy, and Russia, handed the Cretan Government an ultimatum as to the seating of the Mussulman delegates without requiring them to take the oath. On July 11 the Cretan Government officially announced its submission to the conditions laid down by the powers.
