18 And the 'Arvâdy, and the Cemâry, and the 'Hamâthy; and afterward were the families of the Kena'any spread abroad.

19 And the border of the Kena'any was from Çidôn, as thou goest towards Gerâr, unto 'Azâh ; as thou goest towards Sedom and 'Amôrâh, and Admâh and Çebôyîm unto Lâsha'h.

20 These are the sons of 'Hâm, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, in their nations.

22 The sons of Shêm: 'Êlâm, and Asshûr, and Arpakshad, and Lûd, and Arâm.

23 And the sons of Arâm: 'Uç, and 'Hûl, and Gether,

and Mash.

24 And Arpakshâd begat Shela'h; and Shela'h begat 'Êber, [and 'Êber begat Peleg and Yoqtân.1]

26 And Yoqtân begat Almôdad, and Shâleph, and 'Haçarmâveth, and Yârah,

27 And Hadôrâm, and Ûzâl, and Diqlâh,

28 And 'Obal, and Abimâ'el, and Shebâ,

29 And Ophir, and 'Havîlâh, and Yobâb: all these were the sons of Yoqtân.

30 And their dwelling was from Mêshâ, as thou goest towards Sephâr, the mountain of the east.

31 These are the sons of Shêm, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.

32 These are the families of the sons of Noa'h after their genealogies, in their nations and of these were the nations divided in the earth after the deluge.

4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be the father of a multitude of nations.

5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abrâm, but thy name shall be Abrâhâm (the father of a multitude): for the father of a multitude of nations have I made thee.

6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.

7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee and to thy seed after thee.

8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land of thy sojourning, all the land of Kenâ’an, for an everlasting possession: and I will be their God.
