When you are all assembled in the school-room, my dear children, as soon as you have made your respectful obeisances to your elders, and teachers, and your affectionate salutations to each other, take your places silently, and stand listening with reverence, whilst the Principal shall repeat such of the following introductory sentences from the Scriptures as may appear fitted for the occasion; and then saying,
Let us praise God, shall proceed to deliver the Te Deum Laudamus, the young people responding the alternate verses. The Principal shall then say,
Let us pray, And, all devoutly kneeling, shall repeat aloud the Lord's Prayer, in which all present shall join ; after which shall be read the Collect for the day, which being got by heart on the Sabbath to which it
may belong, can be silently joined in by the young people the remainder of the week; then the second Collect for peace and safety, and the third for protection and grace; after which shall follow the Prayer for all Conditions of Men, the General Thanksgiving, and the Prayer of St. Chrysostom, concluding with the accustomed benediction. Then shall be read the Psalms in the order selected, and at the end of the portion appointed for the day, the service shall be concluded with a doxology and blessing, in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
