On motion of Mr. WILKINSON, the resolution was amended by inserting "sergeant-at-arms pro tem." The resolution as amended was agreed to. Mr. COGHILL offered the following resolution: Resolved, That the thanks of this House are due and are hereby tendered to H. C. ALLEN, Speaker of the House, for the able, dignified, courteous and impartial manner in which he has discharged the duties of his office. The question being on agreeing to the resolution, Mr. FRAZIER called for a division of the House. The question being on agreeing to the resolution, was put-no quorum voting. Mr. FRAZIER demanded the yeas and nays, which demand was not sustained. A message was received from the Senate by Mr. SMITH, who informed the House that the Senate was ready on its part to adjourn sine die.
