(1) Cecilia, dau. of Francis Wolfe; she died in 1869, in her 43d year; he m. (2), in 1871, Caroline R., dau. of Liberty B. and Charlotte Gould Rice of New Braintree, Mass. Mr. Cutler is a practising lawyer in Philadelphia, Pa., in which city he resides; has Willie A., b. Jan. 25, 1864. Emily L., m. 1. John1 Cutler of Snow Hill, Md., a descendant of Richard, had children, among whom was:

Nov. 1, 1819; m. Maria Arms, June 25, 1853; res. in New Haven; had: James K., b. April 9, d. Aug. 12, 1854, and Jane Elizabeth, b. Aug. 17, 1855. 3. Elizabeth, b. May 11, 1821; m. Thomas K. Park, Feb. 1, 1841. 4. Frances J., b. Nov. 20, 1824; m. Hiram Cheeseboro, Sept. 5, 1866. 5. Susan C.8, b. Jan. 5, 1827; m. Prof. Wm. Ives, Nov. 25, 1849; he d. Nov., 1875; she m. (2) Samuel Talcott, Aug., 1875.

EDMOND CUTTLER AND HIS DESCENDANTS.

1. Edmond1 Cuttler, a planter, bought land the 5th day, 4th month, 1686, in Bucks County, Penn. The 20th day, 9th month of the same year, he appointed James Dilworth as his attorney, to appear in Court and act for him in a controversy about 200 acres of land. His son, "John Cuttler," witnessed the signature. He married Isabell

who, as his widow, in 1698, sold a portion of the estate. The will of their son William shows that they had six children, two of whom were married previous to his death, in 1714. Children:

i. William, who made his will at Southampton, Bucks Co., 21st day of the 5th month, 1714, which was proved July 14, 1714, bequeathing to "his mother, Isabella Cuttler, £4 annually, and what more that may be necessary for her maintenance during her natural life, if not exceeding £50; to his brother Thomas Cuttler, £5; to his sister Ellen Cuttler, £40; to sister Muargarett Briggs, £30; to sister Jane Cuttler, £30; to Elizabeth Cuttler, Mary Cuttler and Benjamin Cuttler—children of his brother John Cuttler each of them 20s; one-half of the balance of his property, after paying all debts, to Elizabeth Cuttler, Mary Cuttler and Benjamin Cuttler, in equal shares; the other half to Muargarett Briggs; Ellen Cuttler, sole ex

2. JOHN CUTLER, (Edmond1) a planter of Middletown, Pa. He was a school master in 1705 and coroner in 1710. He married Margery Hayhurst. The 7th day of the 11th month 1718, he made his will, giving to his son Benjamin all his plantation and tract of land in Middletown, with all buildings and improvements, when at the age of twenty-one, reserving the use of one-third part for his wife

Margery, during her natural life. To his daughters Elizabeth and Mary, one-half of his personal estate when twenty-one years of age or at time of marriage, if before that time, which shall first be approved ata monthly meeting of the people called Quakers. The other half of his personal estate to his wife Margery for her sole use. Will proved, June 6th, 1720. Will of Margery Cutler made 2nd day 12th month 1722: son Benjamin Cutler, £15, one feather bed and bedding, plow gears and harrow and all other tools of husbandry, also the chest of tools that was his father's; requesting that he live with his uncle Cuthbert Hayhurst or with her brother John Hayhurst until twenty-one when he comes into possession of his property. The balance of her property to be divided. equally between her daughters Elizabeth3 and Mary.3 Will proved August 26, 1723. Children:

. BENJAMIN, d. intestate at Middletown, Bucks Co., Pa. 3. BENJAMIN CUTLER, (John, Edmond1) who was born about 1708, died intestate at Middletown, Bucks County, Penn., March 18, 1769. His estate was settled by his sons John and Benjamin in 1770, by order of the Court, but no return was made of the division of the property. There were at least three children:

4. JOHN CUTLER (Benjamin,3 John, Edmond1) was born about 1740, in Pennsylvania. He married Jane Bradfield of England and resided in Bertie or Burty, Ont. He died about 1834, aged ninety-four. Children:

5. David4 Cutler (Benjamin, John, Edmond1) was born about 1750, and was a farmer, residing at what is now Bristol, Fallsington and Attleboro, Bucks Co., Pa., where he died about 1820. Mr. Cutler, like his ancestors, was a Quaker, and showed his zeal in religious matters by contributing in Attleboro, land for a church site and cemetery and was buried in the latter. He married Mary His chil

6. BENJAMIN CUTLER (John, Benjamin, John, Edmond1) was

born in 1783 and married Sarah -. He resided in the western part of Canada where he has descendants now living. He died in 1879 aged ninety-six. Children:

7. Joseph5 Cutler (John, Benjamin, John, Edmond1) was born in 1787, in Ontario. He married Nancy Johnson, and died in 1877, aged eighty-three. Children:

i. James, m. Abba Near.

ii. John, m. Mary Ann Lee; d. in 1881.

iii. Eber, m. Rebecca Beam. iv. Arthur, unm.
v. Lancelot, m. Charlotte Athae.

vi. Nathan, m. Catherine Middaugh.

One of the above sons had children: 1. George Cut-

8. LAWRENCE CUTLER (David, Benjamin,3 John,2 Edmond1) was born, August 17, 1782, at the Falls, near Bristol, Pa., where he died in 1825. His occupation was farming. He married, Naomi, daughter of Jonathan Brown of Tullytown. She died, May 15, 1865, aged seventy-six, and was buried at Tullytown. Children:

vii. Charles, b. Jan. 29, 1824; m. Miss Wright; res. at Tullytown and Blackmouth. Pa. They had one child, who d. young about 1854.

viii. Pame Ann, b. Sept. 20, 1826; m. Clement Ruscan; resides at Morrisville; has seven ch.

9. JOHN CUTLER (David, Benjamin, John, Edmond1) was born about 1788, at Somerville, now Edgewood, Pa. He married Betsey Johnson of Selma, Pa., who died about 1882-3, aged ninety-three. Mr. Cutler was by trade a shoemaker. He died at Fallsington in 1872. Children: i. John, removed to Ill.

10. JONATHAN CUTLER (Lawrence,5 David, Benjamin,3 John,2 Edmond1) was born, June 26, 1811, and removed West about 1843, and is said to to have settled in Dayton, O., a farmer. Children born in Pennsylvania:
