HUBBUCK'S PATENT WHITE ZINC PAINT,

THE PERMANENT WHITE OF THE ANCIENT ARTIST,

ELEGANT, HEALTHFUL, DURABLE, ECONOMICAL.

HUBBUCK AND SON, the Original Manufacturers of White Zinc Paint on a large scale in this country, are enabled, by an extended and peculiar process of manufacture (which is patented), to supply their Pure White Zinc Paint at the price of ordinary Lead Paint.

The White Paint made from pure Zinc was pronounced, by scientific men of the last century, to be the most beautiful of all White Paints, and unchangeable for hundreds of years. Experience has justified these high commendations, and conclusively established its superiority over White Lead, and every other White Paint known. Notwithstanding this, the cost hitherto being several shillings per pound restricted its use to Artists.

HEALTHFUL TO THE PAINTER AND TO THE OCCUPANTS OF
NEWLY-PAINTED ROOMS;

UNPARALLELED IN WHITENESS, CLEARNESS, AND BRILLIANCY OF COLOUR;
IT IS PERMANENT FOR AGES;

UNAFFECTED BY VAPOUR FROM CESSPOOLS, OR THE MOST NOXIOUS GASES. Those direful maladies, Paralysis and Painter's-colic, which destroy the health of the workman and entail suffering and misery on his posterity, will be entirely avoided. Apartments may now be immediately occupied without danger. It is entirely free from any poisonous or pernicious property whatever.

Neither bilge-water, vapours from cesspools, sulphuretted hydrogen, nor other noxious gases, exposure to red heat on iron, nor to damp, nor salt water, nor tropical climates, act upon it. Under these and other circumstances, when every other paint hitherto known and tried has failed, "Hubbuck's Patent White Zinc Paint" has preserved the fastness of its colour. As a necessary guard against the substitution of inferior Zinc Paints, each cask is stamped"HUBBUCK, LONDON, PATENT ;"

and if the cask is not so marked, the reason is obvious.

For all marine uses-for painting both the inside and outside of ships, light-houses, sluicegates, iron roofing, and bridges, the interior and exterior of buildings, and for all ornamental, decorative, and sanitary purposes, Hubbuck's Patent White Zinc Paint has proved to be superior to every other Paint known, and equally adapted for all climates.

A Circular with full particulars, may be had of

"HUBBUCK'S PATENT WHITE ZINC PAINT.-For public schools, and all rooms occupied by children, there will be now no excuse for using poisonous paints. Parents have remarked that their children, on returning from the country to newly-painted houses, have suffered in health. The reason is evident: the breath extracts the poison from White Lead even after the paint is dry, and the lungs draw in the deadly vapour."-Wesleyan Times, Aug. 5, 1850.

"Among other tests to which it has been subjected, has been that of painting the hold of a sugar-vessel, which after a voyage to St. Kitt's and back, is found, after washing, to be as white as the first day the paint was applied."-John Bull, Sept. 14, 1850.

From Captain Wm. Dicey, H.E.I.Co.'s war-steamer Tenasserim, April, 1853. "Your White Zinc Paint is much liked in India, as it does not change yellow like the ordinary white paint."

"Certified that I have used Thos. Hubbuck and Son's Patent White Zinc Paint on the Government State Yacht Soonamooky, and found it far superior to the white paint generally in use. It has kept its pure white appearance up to the present time (twelve months since it was laid on), when the white lead paint has turned yellow. It is also much more economical. (Signed) "J. SIMPSON, H.E. I. Co.'s Builder and Surveyor. "Kiddepore, Calcutta, April 21, 1853."
