blood of his cross by him, to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you that were sometimes alienated, and enemies in your minds by wicked works; yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh, through death, to present you holy, unblameable, and unre.

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, Heb. 9. but by his own blood, he entered in once 12, 14. into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your consciences from dead works to serve the living God?
For Christ also hath once suffered for 1 Pet. fins, the Just for the unjust, that he might 3. bring us to God: being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the spirit.
Hereby perceive we the love of God, John because he laid down his life for us.
3, 16. And for this cause he is the Mediator of Heb. 9. the New Testament, that by means of the redemption of transgressions that were under the First Testament, they which are called might receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

Q. Was this only a special promise to these disciples ? Or, is it not the common privilege

4. Wherefore henceforth know we no 2 Cor.5. man after the flesh; yea, though we have known Chrift after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away, behold all things are become new. But ye have not so learned Christ; if so Eph. 4.
21, 22, be that ye have heard him, and have been 23; 24. taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: : that ye put off, concerning the former converfation, the old man which is corrupt, according to the deceitful lufts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after ? God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
