LXI.

1. Hear, Lord! the song of praise and pray'r
In heav'n, thy dwelling place,
From children, made the public care,
And taught to seek thy face.

2. Thanks for thy word, and for thy day;

And grant us, we implore, Never to waste, in sinful play,

Thy holy Sabbaths more.

3. Thanks that we hear-but O impart
To each desire sincere,

That we may listen with our heart,
And learn, as well as hear!

4. For if vain thoughts the mind engage Of elder far than we,

What hope, that at our heedless age
Our minds should e'er be free?

5. Much hope-if Thou our spirits take
Under thy gracious sway,

Who can'st the wisest wiser make,
And babes as wise as they,

6. Wisdom and bliss thy word bestows;

A sun that ne'er declines;

And be thy mercy show'rd on those
Who plac'd us where it shines!

LXII.

1. Sweet the streams of mercy flowing, Health and blessing spreading round, Knowledge, Peace, and love bestowingHeav'nly fruits on earthly ground. Like its inexhaustless Fountain,

Never failing to relieve, Greater favour, it accounting, To impart than to receive.

2. In the morn of life selected
By your sympathising care,
You our wandering steps directed,-
In our wants you kindly share.
Constant in your gen'rous labour,
What can we to you return?
To our God, and to our neighbour,
May we each our duty learn!

LXIII.

In one glad song of praise;
To God, the God of Love,
Our grateful voice we raise.

His love demands your

earliest songs.

The Book of Life divine,
Where our REDEEMER's love
And brightest glories shine.

To God alone the praise is due, Whose sacred Book is given to you.

3. Within these hallow'd walls

Our wand'ring feet are brought, Where pray'r and praise resound, And heav'nly truths are taught.

CONGREGATION.

To God alone your tribute bring, And in the Church His praises sing.

CHILDREN.

4. For all the tender care,

We from these friends receive : O LORD, accept our hearts'Tis all that we can give.

To him alone exalt your song.

5. LORD! crown their work of love, With swift and great success: And may our holy lives

Their care and teaching bless,

CONGREGATION.

Then do we reap our great reward, When you begin to serve your LORD!

LXIV.

1. Some sweet savour

Of thy favour

Shed abroad in every heart;

Heav'n-ward as to thee we go,
Leaving guilt and fear below,

Blessing, praising,

Without ceasing,

Bid us Lord depart.

LXV.

I. On seeds of grace now sown,
Thy blessings Lord bestow,
The pow'r is thine alone,

To make them spring and grow;
Do thou the plenteous harvest raise,
And thou alone shalt have the praise.

LXVI.

1. Eternal Sun of Righteousness,
Display thy beams divine;
And cause the glory of thy face,
Upon our hearts to shine.

2. Light in thy light, O may we see Thy grace, and mercy prove;

Reviv'd, and cheer'd and bless'd by thee, The God of pardoning love.
