He is the author of many books on the outdoors, including At Home in the Wilderness, Wilderness Cookery and The Field Guide to Edible Wild Plants. David K. Foster is associate professor of biology and environmental science at Messiah College in Pennsylvania and a member of the Society of American Foresters.
