In either such case our confidence in the opinion of another will reasonably depend on an estimate of his knowledge of the subject, of his power of 'reasoning correctly on similar subjects, of his deli'beration and impartiality in exercising that power. The absence of either of these elements deprives his 'opinion of weight. If, moreover, by subsequent ex'perience, the anticipations of his opinion be partially 'confirmed, it acquires additional weight.
