HAMILTON COUNTY was set off from Montgomery County in 1816; but is not to be organized until it shall contain 1288 taxable inhabitants qualified to vote for members of Assembly." It is at this time a nom. inal County, and in all elections for State Officers is connected with Montgomery County.
