The bill (No. 978) entitled "An act to amend the Fisheries, Game and Forest Law, in relation to sale of grouse, woodcock and trout in Adirondack counties" (Int. No. 566), having been announced for a third reading,

On motion of Mr. Brown, and by unanimous consent, said bill was amended so as to read as follows:

AN ACT to amend the fisheries, game and forest law, in relation to sale of grouse, woodcock and trout in Adirondack counties. The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

Section 1. Article five of chapter four hundred and eighty-eight of the laws of eighteen hundred and ninety-two, the title to which was amended by chapter three hundred and ninety-five of the laws of eighteen hundred and ninety-five to read "An act relating to game, fish and wild animals and to the forest preserve and Adirondack park, constituting chapter thirty-one of the general laws, and to be known as the fisheries, game and forest law,' as [SENATE JOURNAL.]

amended by chapter nine hundred and seventy-four of the laws of eighteen hundred and ninety-five, is hereby amended by adding after section number one hundred and seven another section, to be known as section number one hundred and seven-a, to read as follows:

§ 107a. Grouse, woodcock or brook trout not to be sold in Adirondack counties.-Ruffed grouse, commonly known as par tridge, or any member of the grouse family, woodcock, and trout other than lake or salmon trout, shall not be sold at either public or private sale, at any time, by any person, firm, association or corporation, or by any officer, agent, workman or employee of either, within the counties of Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Hamilton, Herkimer, Lewis, Jefferson, Oneida, Saint Lawrence, Warren or Washington. Any attempt to make any such sale is forbidden and shall be deemed a violation of this section. Whoever shall violate or attempt to violate the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and in addition thereto shall be liable to a penalty of sixty dollars for each violation and five dollars for each bird or fish sold.

§ 2. All acts and parts of acts, so far as they are inconsistent with the provisions of this act, are hereby repealed.

§ 3. This act shall take effect immediately.

damages to lands and building, suffered by reason of change of grade of streets or avenues, made pursuant to chapter 721 of the Laws of 1887, providing for the depression of railroad tracks in the Twenty-third and Twenty-fourth wards in the city of New York or otherwise,' as amended by chapter 567 of the Laws of 1894, entitled 'An act to amend chapter 537 of the Laws of 1893. entitled An act providing for ascertaining and paying the amount of damages to lands and buildings suffered by reason of changes of grade of streets or avenues, made pursuant to chapter 721 of the Laws of 1887, providing for the depression of railroad tracks in the Twenty-third and Twenty-fourth wards in the city of New York or otherwise,' relative to damages caused by change of grade in the borough of the Bronx, (formerly the Twenty-third and Twenty-fourth wards), of the city of New York, by permitting the filing of certain claims, under the provisions of said chapter 537 of the Laws of 1893, as amended by Chapter 567 of the Laws of 1894."
