or of altering, widening, or turning fuch Highways or any Part thereof through the fame; and in order thereunto the faid Trustees, or any nine or more of them, are hereby impowered and required from time to time to fummon before the faid Jury, and examine upon Oath all and every Perfon and Perfons, who fhall be thought neceffary and proper to be examined concerning the Premifes (which Oath any two or more of the said Trustees, for each fuch District are hereby impowered to adminifter) and they the faid Trustees, or any nine or more of them, fhall, by ordering a View or otherwife, ufe all lawful Ways and Means as well for their own as for the faid Jury's better Information in the Premifes; and the faid Trustees, or any nine or more of them, fhall order, adjudge, and determine the Sum or Sums of Money which fhall be affeffed by the faid Jury for fuch Damages as aforesaid to be paid to the faid Owners or Proprietors of, or other

Perfon or Perfons interested in the faid Lands or Hereditaments according to fuch Verdict or Inquifition of the faid Jury; which Verdict or Inquifition and Judgment, Order, or Determination fhall be final and binding to all Parties and Perfons whomfoever claiming or to claim in Poffeffion, Reversion, Remainder or otherwise, their Heirs and Succeffors, as well abfent as present, Infants, Femes-covert, and Perfons under any other Disability whatsoever, Bodies Politick or Corporate, Ecclefiaftical or Civil, as well as all other Perfon or Perfons whomfoever; and the faid Trustees, or any nine or more of them, are hereby impowered to iffue out their Warrant or Warrants, under their Hands and Seals, to the Sheriff of the County of Middlefex, thereby requiring him to impanel, fummon, and return an indifferent Jury of twenty-four Perfons to appear before the faid Trustees, or any nine or more of them, at fuch Time and Place as in fuch Warrant or Warrants fhall be appointF

fuch Jury, who fhall not appear, or appearing fhall refufe to be fworn on the faid Jury, or being fworn fhall not give their Verdict, or fhall in any other manner wilfully neglect their Duty therein, contrary to the true Intent and Meaning of this A&t, and on any of the Perfons who, being required to give Evidence before the faid Jury touching the Premifes, fhall refufe or neglect to appear, or refuse to be examined and to give Evidence; and from time to time to levy and apply fuch Fine or Fines in fuch Manner as the Penalties and Forfeitures are hereinafter directed to be levied and applied, fo as no fuch Fine be more than Ten Pounds, nor lefs than twenty Shillings, upon any one Perfon for one Offence.

And be it further enacted, by the Expences of Authority aforefaid, That in cafe Juries, &c. any Jury or Juries, to be fummoned how to be and fworn pursuant to the Autho- paid. rity of this Act, fhall give in and deliver a Verdict or Affeffment for more Monies, as a Recompence or Satis

Satisfaction for any fuch Lands or Hereditaments, or for any fuch Lofs or Damage, than what fhall have been agreed to and offered by the faid refpective Trustees, or any nine or more of them, before the fummoning or returning the faid Jury or Juries, as a Recompence or Satisfaction for any fuch Lands or Hereditaments, or Lofs or Damage as aforefaid, then and in fuch Cafe the Costs and Expences of summoning and maintaining the Jury and Witneffes for the afcertaining and determining the Value of any fuch Lands or Hereditaments, or the Loffes or Damages fuftained as Maforefaid, fhall be born and paid by the faid Trustees of the District concerning which fuch Proceedings fhall have been had, or any nine or more of them, out of the Tolls or Duties of fuch Diftrict hereby granted; but if any Jury or Juries, fo to be fummoned and fworn as aforefaid, fhall give in and deliver a Verdict or Affefsment for no more or for lefs Monies than fhall have been
