of marines, or marine, fhall be fent fick, as aforefaid, to any hofpital or fick quarters, either at home or abroad, one part of fuch ticket fhall alfo fpecify the different effects or neceffaries which fhall be fent with him, and fhall defcribe the diforder or infirmity for which he shall be so fent, and shall be addreffed to the commiffioners appointed to take care of fick and wounded feamen, or their agent, at fuch hofpital or fick quarters, and the form of such remove ticket, unferviceable ticket, or fick ticket, as the cafe may be, fhall be as follows, or to the like effect:

If the perfon in whofe favour this ticket is made out fhall be fent fick to any hofpital. or fick quarters, at home or abroad, and shall afterwards return to his ship, he shall leave this ticket with the agent of fuch hofpital or fick quarters

If he thall be fent from fuch hofpital or fick quarters to ferve in any other fhip, he fhal carry this ticket with him, which fhall not be payable until the fhip on board of which he goes fhall come in courfe of payment, or until he thall be difcharged therefrom.

If he shall be removed from one ship to another abroad, he shall deliver it, when he ar rives in England, to the commiffioners of the navy in London, or to the commiffioner of the navy refiding at Portsmouth, Plymouth, or Chatham, who will caufe payment to be made as foon as may be, at whichever of thefe places it fhall be delivered.

If he fhall be in any way difcharged unferviceable, he may receive payment in the fame manner at any of thofe places; or if, being fo difcharged unferviceable, he fhall be or ar rive at any other port or place in Great Britain or Ireland, and fhall be defirous to receive) payment at fuch place, of this or any other ticket which he may have, he fhall apply to the nearest collector of the customs or excife, or receiver of the land tax, or clerk of the check, and fhall deliver to him fuch tickets, together with a certificate of his having received no wages for his fervices during his paffage, if he fhall have come home in a packet or merchantman; and the faid collector of the customs, or whichever of the above revenue officers he shall apply to, fhall transmit the fame to the commiffioners of the navy in Londen, who will forward a bill for the amount of the wages, to be immediately pa to the perfon entitled to them; and the faid revenue officer fhall alfo tranfmit fuch perfon's addrefs, who must be indentified to him by the mafter of the said packet or merchantman, or by fome other perfon of good repute.

N. B. The perfonating or falfely affuming the name and character of any petty of ficer, feaman, or marine, or procuring any other to do the fame, in order to receive any pay or wages due, or fuppofed to be due, is made felony without benefit of clergy, by act s Geo. III. And if the perfon in whofe favour this ticket is made out, fhall die before he receives payment, it is to be returned together with any other tickets he may have in his poffeffion, to the commiffioners of the navy, London.

If the party shall be discharged unferviceable, be turned over to any other fhip in the fervice of his Majefty, or be fent fick, and do not return to his fhip, the captain or commanding officer is to fend this duplicate to the commiffioners of the navy, London, by the first safe opportunity thereafter."

Or any captain or commanding officer, who fhall have this duplicate in his poffeffion, upon his arrival in England is immediately to forward it to the commiffioners of the navy, London.

And the captain or commander of fuch fhip or veffel fhall fign Captains to both parts of fuch ticket, and cause the fame to be figned by the fign nav tickproper figning officers of the fhip, and he fhall cut them afunder ets, &c. indentwife, through the oblique lines, flourishes, or devices, and shall deliver one part of the fame to the petty officer or feaman, non-commiffioned officer of marines, or marine, who shall be turned over, difcharged, or fent fick in manner aforefaid; and if fuch petty officer or feaman, non-commiffioned officer of marines, or marine, having been fent fick to any foreign hofpital, or fick quarters, shall not return to his fhip, or having been fent to any hofpital or fick quarters in Great Britain, fhall not return to his ship within thirty days from the time of his having been fo fent; or if fuch petty officer or feaman, non-commiffioned officer of marines, or marine, fhall have been discharged unferviceable, or removed from one fhip to another abroad, the faid captain or commander fhall tranfmit the other part by the first fafe opportunity thereafter, without any neglect or delay whatsoever, to the commiffioners of the navy at their board, for the use of such petty officer or feaman, non-commiffioned officer of marines or marine; who are hereby directed and required, as foon as they fhall Navy board receive fuch part, to cause the fame to be forthwith examined, to caufe pay tickets tranfand the day upon which it fhall be received to be indorfed theremitted, to be on; and when any petty officer or feaman, non-commiffioned examined,&c. officer of marines, or marine, who shall be so fent to any of his Majefty's hofpitals or fick quarters, fhall be discharged therefrom, the agent of fuch hofpital or fick quarters is hereby required Agents of hofand directed to make out a certificate of fuch difcharge, by filling pitals, &c. up the blanks, as the truth may be, of the form fubjoined to the cates of the fick ticket, which shall have been delivered, as aforefaid, to the discharge faid petty officer or feaman, non-commiffioned officer of marines, therefrom of or marine, and which he fhall fign and deliver to him; and when petty officers, any fuch petty officer or feaman, non-commiffioned officer of marines, or marine, fhall be fo difcharged from any of his Majefty's hofpitals, or fick quarters abroad, and fhall arrive in any port of Great Britain, in any packet, or trading ship or veffel, and fhall not have received any wages, pay, or other confideration, for any service performed by him while on board the fame, the commander of fuch fhip or veffel is hereby directed and re- Commanders quired to grant a certificate thereof, which fhall alfo exprefs and of veffels fet forth the dates of the entry of fuch petty officer or feaman, bringing home petty officers, non-commiffioned officer of marines, or marine, on board of his &c.difcharged fhip or veffel, and discharge therefrom: and if any fuch com- from hospitals mander fhall refufe or delay to grant fuch certificate, upon appli- abroad, to cation to him for the fame from fuch petty officer or feaman, cates of their grant certifi non-commiffioned officer of marines, or marine, he shall forfeit having paid and pay the fum of fifty pounds, to be recovered in any of his them no waMajefty's courts of record at Westminster, by action of debt, bill, ges for their plaint, or information, one half thereof to be applied to fuch petty their paffage fervicesduring officer or feaman, non-commiffioned officer of marines, or mas home, on pe rine, and the other half thereof to the perfon who fhall fue for the nalty of sol. fame.
