Memoirs of the Mother and Wife of WashingtonDerby, Miller & Company, 1850 - 248 Seiten Martha Dandridge was born in New Kent County, Virginia, in 1732. She married Colonel Daniel Parke Custis, son of John Custis of Arlington, at the age of seventeen. They had three children. The oldest son died at a young age and his father died soon after. She married George Washington in 1759 and they made their home at Mount Vernon, Fairfox County, Virginia. She died in 1802. |
