La collection de l'Edinburgh Review jusqu'en 1835 forme 122 Nos. Un choix des meilleurs articles de cet excellent journal a été publié à Londres. Ce choix, dû au consciencieux discernement de M. Maurice CROSS, secrétaire de la société de Belfast, est considéré à juste titre comme un des meilleurs ouvrages de la littérature anglaise. La matiere n'est plus dispersée çà et là comme dans le journal. M. Cross a classé méthodiquement tous les meilleurs articles ayant rapport a chaque branche de la littérature, de sorte que cet ouvrage remplit une lacune qui se faisait sentir depuis long-temps. C'est non-seulement un cours de littérature anglaise par les auteurs les plus renommés de la Grande-Bretagne, mais c'est encore un livre où l'homme d'Etat, le publiciste, l'économiste, le juriste, où tout homme qui s'occupe d'art et de science, trouvera une mine féconde à exploiter (Voir, pour le titre, l'article suivant).
