Lane, or publick Way fhall not exceed five Yards in Breadth from the Foundation Walls of the Houfes or other Buildings, on the one Side thereof, to the Foundation Walls of the Houfes or other Buildings on the other Side thereof, (the faid Twelve Inches to be meafured from the old Foundation Wall of the Houfe or Building to which any fuch Projection fhall be affixed) the Perfon or Perfons making or continuing any fuch Projection, or caufing the fame to be made or continued, will be profecuted for a publick Nufance, and fuch Projection will be removed and taken away.

Provided nevertheless, and it is hereby declared, That nothing in this Order contained is intended to authorize or encourage any Projection or Incroachment to be made or continued in any Street, or publick Way within the faid City or the Suburbs thereof, although the fame fhall exceed Seven Yards in Breadth.

And it is hereby further ordered, by the Authority aforefaid, That if any Butcher or other Perfon fhall caufe, or willingly fuffer, any flaughtered Calf, Sheep, or other Animal, or any Part of any flaughtered Calf, Sheep, or other Animal, to be hung up on the Outfide of his or her Shop or other Place in any publick Street of this City, fuch Butcher or other Perfon will be profecuted for a Nufance.

Soil carried away the fame Day

No Hay, Straw, Wood, Bricks, Stones, &c. to be laid in the Streets (ex-
cept Rubbish of Buildings) without carrying away, and fweeping the fame
Day, and in the mean Time leaving Room for Carriages
And for every Day fuch Annoyances are continued

Rubbish of Buildings to be removed as foon as poffible, and every Saturday
till the Building is finished. Light to be hung out in the mean Time, every
Night before Sun-fet, and kept up burning all Night

No Person to hoop, wash, or fire for bending, any Cafk or Veffel, or
flaughter any Cattle in the Street, or throw any Dirt into any publick Drain
No Person to keep in the Street any Stall, Shed, Table, &c. Veffel or
Basket, for Sale of Fruit, Toys, or other Wares (except in the Markets on
Market or Fair Days)

Or to pick or fift any Dirt, Duft, or Ashes

Carriages not to remain longer in the Street than while they can be con-
veniently loaded or unloaded, and not after it is dark, nor without fome Per-
fon able to guide the Horfes, nor fo as to obftruct other Carriages paffing by
No Coach, Chaife, &c. or any Part thereof, to be fet in the Street to make
or mend

No empty Coach or Chaife to be longer in the Street than in waiting for 1. s. d.
Company, nor without fome able Perfon to guide the Horfes
No Horfe to be turned out, or driven loose and unguided
No Driver of any Coach, Chaife, &c. nor any Perfon riding or leading any
Horse, without Neceffity, to go on the Flag-Stones, or fo near the Houses that
Foot-Paffengers cannot fafely pafs

All the Streets to be completely paved before September 29, 1763, which if
not done, (after Notice) the Surveyors, &c. to repair the fame at the Charges
of the Perfons liable; and, in Default of Payment, fuch Charges to be levied
by Distress and Sale

Pavements taken up, for fixing or repairing Pipes, to be laid within one
Day after the Work is finished, to the Satisfaction of the Perfon liable to keep
the fame in Repair; and, in the mean Time, the Manager of the Water-
Works to fix up a Light from Sun-fet to Sun-rifing

Wheels of Waggons, Carts, Drays, and Rullies, after April 5, 1764, tó
have Fellies fix Inches broad

And after the fame Day no Rully to carry more than one Tun of Liquid at
a Time

Such a Number of Bell-Lamps (of eleven Inches Diameter) as particularly
fpecified, to be lighted at Sun-fet every Evening, and kept burning till Twi-
light every Morning, from October 1 to March 31 inclufive, and during the
Race-Week

Surveyors to caufe the A&t to be put in Execution, and the Penalties levied and applied according thereto

And the Surveyors and the Collectors to accept their Offices within ten
Days after Appointment, and fignify fuch Acceptance by Writing, under their
Hands, in the publick Book to be kept for entering the Surveyors Accounts,
Any Perfon who ought to give Notice, making Default, or not affeffing
or collecting Rates

Affeffments refufed to be paid for four Days after demanded, to be levied
by Diltrefs and Sale.

Surveyors and Collectors to account

This Penalty to be levied by Diftrefs and Sale: If no fufficient Diftrefs, the
Offender to be committed to the common Gaol, without Bail, till Ac-
count or Satisfaction, or Compofition and Delivery of all Books of Ac-
count and Vouchers.

Stealing Lamps or the Furniture thereof, or any Part thereof, the Offenders,
on Conviction at the, Quarter-Seffions, to be punifhed by Whipping, or Fine
and Imprisonment, not exceeding fix Months.

Wilfully breaking, throwing down, fpoiling, or extinguishing Lamps, first
Offence, 40s. for each Lamp; fecond Offence, 4 third and every other
Offence, 6. Conviction before one Juftice, on Oath of one Witnefs. Where
no Diftrefs, Commitment not exceeding three Months,

Carelefly breaking any Lamps, and not immediately upon Demand making
Satisfaction, one Juftice to fummon the Party; and on hearing both Sides, or . s. d.
Non-appearance of the Perfon complained of, to award to the Party injured a
Sum of Money for Compenfation; which if not paid within three Days after
demanded, to be levied by Diftrefs: If no Diftrefs, Commitment not exceed-
ing ten Days.

The Water to be brought from the Roofs of all Houfes and Buildings by
Spouts, or otherwife conveyed into private Grounds, before Sept. 29, 1763,
or within forty Days after, and the fame to be kept in fufficient Repair, save
in the Places exempted, which are equally liable for every new Erection

No Chairman or Coachman to ply for Hire without Licence, which is to be renewed annually on the firft Thursday in July

No Coaches or Chairs to be used for Hire but fuch as are marked, on Penalty of not less than zos. nor above 37.

Coachmen or Chairmen refusing to accept the Rates mentioned in the Act, or giving abufive Language, Penalty not exceeding 10s. to the Ufe of the Poor of the Parish.

Penalties not otherwife particularly directed, to be one Moiety to the Informer, and the other Moiety to the Surveyors of the Parish for enlightning the Streets.
