The President of the Association, Mr. Charles B. Holmes, of Chicago, Ill., called the meeting to order in the "Tea Room" of the hotel, at 10:30 o'clock, A. M., and stated the first business in order to be the calling of the roll. The Secretary, Mr. William J. Richardson, of Brooklyn, N. Y., said that he would call the names of all the Companies that were members, and would announce only the names of the gentlemen that he understood would be present to represent their Companies, and of whose attendance he had been notified in advance of the meeting; and that if there were any gentlemen present whose names he did not call, it would be for the reason that he had not been informed of their intended presence, and in that case desired that they should announce their names when the names of their Companies were called; or the name of any gentlemen who intended to be present, but had not yet arrived.
