DEDICATION.

TO THE

GOVERNORS AND COMPANY

OF THE

MERCHANT MAIDEN HOSPITAL,

Edinburgh.

GENTLEMEN,

I feel the greatest pleasure in dedicating
to you the following account of a place which has been much
indebted to your fostering care, and under whose benign
auspices it has attained to that respectable rank which it
now holds, as a maritime port.

I have no hesitation in saying, that all the trouble
and
expence which you have bestowed on it will soon be
amply rewarded, and your most sanguine expectations rea-
lized, as Peterhead now bids fair to become one of the first
ports in the North of Scotland.

That this may soon be the case, is the earnest wish of,

GENTLEMEN,

Your most obedient

Humble servant,

JAS. ARBUTHNOT, JUN.
