Charter-party: Charters the ship Arkwright to transport
troops and supplies from New York to Punta Rasa,
Florida, for the sum of $3,800. 4 lay days allowed;
demurrage afterwards at $200 per day.
Lease: Leasing to the United States the site of Fort Davis,
Texas, so long as required for military purposes, not
exceeding twenty years from October 7, 1854, with
privilege to cut fuel and timber, for the monthly rent
of $25; also with privilege of purchase at $10 per acre
in five years from date, or at $20 per acre during re-
mainder of the term.

Transportation of troops, &c.: To transport on the steamer

Enterprise, from Oregon City to Dayton, Oregon Terri-
tory, 1 officer and 55 men, at $3 each, and 25 tons of
baggage, at $9 per ton.

Corn: To deliver at Fort Stanton, New Mexico, 6,000
fanegas (140 pounds each) of corn, at $5 40 per fanega,
and 20 cents for each sack not returned; first delivery
to be made, of 500 fanegas, November 15, 1856; to be
delivered in same quantity, monthly, until the contract
is completed.

Wood: To deliver within five miles of Fort Bliss, Texas,
such quantities of mezquit roots for fuel as may be re-
quired for use there during one year from July 25,
1856, at $4 25 per cord.

Transportation of troops: To transport on steamboats from Brazos Santiago to Fort Brown, Texas, companies

St. Mary, from Fort Pierre to Fort Union, Upper Mis-
souri, Lieut. Warren and party, (26 persons,) with
14,000 pounds of public property, at $40 each for Lieut.
W. and his three assistants; $20 each for the rest; and
$3 50 per 100 pounds for the supplies.

Transportation of stores: To transport on the schooner
Pancasset, from Charleston to Fort Capron, Florida,
4,000 bushels of oats for $900. 7 lay days for dis-
charging; demurrage afterwards at $25 per day.
Wood: To deliver at Ringgold Barracks such quantities of
wood as may be required in six months from January
1, 1857, at $1 43 per cord.

Transportation of troops: To transport from New Orleans
to Fort Monroe, on the steamship Philadelphia, 6 offi-
cers, at $60 each, and 111 enlisted men, &c., with
their baggage, &c., at $30 each.

Fort Leavenworth for one year, with privilege of ex-
tension five years, bind themselves to keep a steam
ferry-boat there, free to officers, men, employés,
wagons, animals, &c., pertaining to or connected with
said military establishment, &c.

Charter-party: Charter of the schooner William and John
to transport hay from Charleston to Fort Dallas, Fla.,
for $600.

Erection of a hospital: To build a hospital at Fort Hamil-
ton, according to specifications, for $3,000.
Transportation of supplies: To transport from New York
to Benicia, California, 700 half barrels of beef, at
$1 12 per half barrel, per ship Golden Fleece.
Wood: To deliver at that post, in quantities as required,
1,200 cords of oak wood, at $6 50 per cord.

enlisted men, with their baggage, &c., for $1,448.
Charter-party: Charters the schooner Florida to transport
troops from Key West to Miami, Florida, for $250.
Charter-party: Charters the schooner Jane Eliza for a
voyage from Key West to Indian Key, and back, to
transport troops and supplies, for $125.
Employment: To serve as pilot on the United States
steamer D. H. Morton, now lying 60 miles below Fort
Randall, for $500 per month, the usual ration, and
$100 to defray expenses in going to the steamer.
Employment: To serve as first engineer on the steamer
D. H. Morton, for $160 per month, the usual ration,
and $100 extra, as above.

Employment: To conduct 50 horses from Fort Brown to
Corpus Christi, he paying all expenses, for $200.
Transportation of supplies: To transport from Charleston
to Fort Capron, by February 10, 1857, a certain quan.
tity of stores for $6,000.

Employment: Agrees to serve as guide, interpreter, &c.,
with the Red River expedition, at $10 per diem for his
services, and the use and risk of two horses, &c.

Emma 2 officers and 115 enlisted men, &c., to the

Building hull, &c., of a steamer: To construct, by March
1, 1857, the hull and cabin of a steamboat of 170 feet
keel, 32 feet beam, and 5 feet hold, for $11,015; also,
to furnish dunnage complete, $200; small capstan and
bars, $60; pilot wheel, 2 yawls, 4 derricks and jacks,
for $367.

Wood: To deliver at Key West Barracks, Florida, 150
cords of wood, at $4 95 per cord. The quantity may
be increased or diminished by one month's notice.

Corn To deliver at Fort Union, by January 31, 1857,
1,300 fanegas (140 pounds each) of shelled corn, at
$3 25 per fanega.

Corn To deliver, as above, in January, 1857, 1,000
fanegas (140 pounds each) of corn, at $3 28 per
fanega.
