ARLINGTON HOTEL, October 14, 1879.

The adjourned meeting of the resident members of the Army of the Cumberland, and citizens of the District, was called to order by the Chairman, GENERAL T. T. CRITTENDEN, at 8 o'clock. The Chairman of the Committee of Nine, GENERAL W. M. DUNN, United States Army, stated that the Committee had completed its labors, and was ready to report, which report was as follows (read to the meeting by GENERAL R. D. MUSSEY, Secretary of the Committee), viz:

Your Committee on Nominations submit the following report of names for the Committees on Finance, Reception, Hall, Decoration, Entertainment, Music, Printing, and Transportation, and recommend their adoption.

Your Committee further recommend that these Committees be authorized from time to time to fill vacancies occurring in their number, and to add to their number, if deemed best.

Your Committee further recommend the adoption by this meeting of the following resolution, viz:

Resolved, That there be appointed by the Chairman of this meeting an Executive Committee of seven members, who shall, in connection with the Executive Committee of the Army of the Cumberland, have general supervisory charge of all arrangements for the meeting of the Army of the Cumberland, and the unveiling of the statue of GENERAL THOMAS, to which Executive Committee all the Special Committees shall report.

Your Committee also recommend that the subject of Committee on Marshals be referred to this Executive Committee, when raised, and the Executive Committee of the Army of the Cumberland.

Your Committee also recommend that the duty of the Committee on Invitations be reposed in the Executive Committee of the Army of the Cumberland.

The report was adopted without dissent. On motion the Committee of Nine was discharged with the thanks of the meeting.

A vote of thanks was tendered MR. ROSELLE, proprietor of the Arlington, for the use of his parlors. The Chair

stated that he should require time before announcing the names of the Executive Committee of seven, that when determined upon he should cause the announcement to be made

in the city press.

Whereupon the meeting adjourned subject to the call of the Chairman.

In accordance with the resolution adopted at the meeting of the Committee of Nine, on the 14th day of October, 1879, the following named gentlemen were appointed as the Advisory Executive Committee, viz:
