INQUIRIES INTO PROVISIONAL ORDERS (1907). RETURN of all the DRAFT ProvisioNAL ORDERS under the PRIVATE LEGISLATION PROCEDURE (SCOTLAND) Act, 1899, which in the Session of 1907 have

been reported on by Commissioners; together with the names of the Commissioners; the first and also the last day of the sittings in each group; the number of days on which each body of Commissioners sat; the number of days on which each Commissioner has served ; the number of days occupied by each Draft Provisional Order before the Commissioners ; the Draft Provisional Orders, the Preambles of which were reported to have been proved ; and the Draft Provisional Orders, the Preambles of which were reported to have been not proved.

* Mr. Ernest Gardner, M.P., who had been appointed a member of this Commission, was unable to attend the Inquiry. Note.— The following opposed Orders were, at the request of the Promoters, not referred for Inquiry in the Session of 1907 :1. Edinburgh Corporation.

2. †Leith Harbour and Docks. The following opposed Order was withdrawn by the Promoters :

§ Edinburgh and Suburban Tramways. The above are the opposed Orders of the Session of 1907. In the case of the following Orders there was no opposition, or cpposition was withdrawn add no Inquiry by Commissioners was held :1. Aberdeen Harbour. 4. Dumbarton Burgh.

10. Paisley Corporation. 2. Clyde Navigation. 5. Dumbarton Burgh and County Tramways.

8. Lanarkshire County Council.

11. ^ Universities (Scotland) Committees 3. tClyde Navigation (Superannuation). 6. Inverness Royal Academy. 9. Oregon Mortgage Company, Limited.

for Training of Teachers. The following draft Orders were required to proceed as Bills :1. **Buckhaven Dock. 4. General Accident, Fire, and Life Assurance

Corporation, Limited.

Water.
3. Electric Supply Corporation, Limited.
5. Glasgow Corporation.

7. Royal Bank of Scotland.
In addition, the following Parts of Orders were required to proceed as Bills :--
1. Part II. of the Aberdeen Corporation Order.

Clause 34 of the Leith Harbour and Docks Order.
2. Clause 65 of the Dundee Corporation Order.

Of the above, No. 1 was passed under the title of the Aberdeen Corporation Electricity Act. Nos. 2 and 3 were not proceeded with by the Promoters.
In the case of the Bill marked ** the preamble was found not proved.
The Bill and the Orders marked † are carried over to next Session, and the Order marked & was not prooeeded with by the Promoters.

All the other Orders and Bills have been confirmed or passed.
The following Order which was carried over from the Session of 1906 was made and confirmed :-

Portobello and Musselburgh Tramways (Port Seton Deviation).

from other Bills, introduced into this House, or brought from the House of Lords, during Session 1907 ; showing the Number which received the Royal Assent; the Number which were Passed by this House, but not by the House of Lords; the Number Passed by the House of Lords, but not by this House; and distinguishing the Stages at which such Bills as did not receive the Royal Assent were Dropped or Postponed and Rejected in either House of Parliament (in continuation of Parliamentary Paper, No. 0.209, of Session 1906).”
