JUNE 6.-Whitehall.-William Erskine, Esq., Advocate, appointed Sheriff Depute of the Shire of Orkney and Zetland, in room of William Rae, Esq., promoted.-James Ferguson, Esq., to be one of the advocates depute in the room of said William Erskine, Esq.-Sir Rupert George, Knight, Ambrose Serle, James Bowen, Esqrs., the Hon. 21. Whitehall. -George Kekewich, Esq., appointed his Majesty's AdvocateGeneral at the Cape of Good Hope.

AUG. 26.-Whiteheil.--The Right Hon. Lieut.-General Sir Arthur Wellesley, K. B. created Baron and Viscount of the United Kingdom, by the titles of Baron Douro of Wellesley, in the county of Somerset, and Viscount Wellington of Talavera, and of Wellington in said county.

SEPT. 2.-William Hamilton, Esq., appointed Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, in the room of the Hon. Charles Bagot.-Deputy purveyor M'Whirter to be Purveyor of the forces. -Assistant Surgeon Jones, Hospital Mates Courtenay, Graham, and Brown, to be apothecaries to his Majesty's forces. 16. Whitehall-Major-General John Cope Sherbrooke, appointed one of the Knights Companions of the Bath.-Also Francis W.
