Resolved, That the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of New Hampshire hereby declare their unqualified approval of this most beneficent attempt to avoid wars or threats of war, and in place thereof to set up the principles of christianity and humanity that call for a peaceful settlement of international disputes; and,

Resolved, That we urge the Senators of the United States from New Hampshire to use their utmost endeavors to bring about a ratification and approval by the Senate of any treaty which shall honorably consummate this method of adjusting international difficulties between these two nations.

Senator Howard moved that the foregoing resolution be laid upon the table and made a special order for Tuesday next at 11.30 A. M.

(Discussion ensued.)

The motion prevailed.

Senator Buxton, under a suspension of the rules, sixteen Senators having actually voted in favor thereof, introduced a bill entitled "An act creating a sanitary district in the town of Newbury," which was read a first and second time and, on motion of the same Senator, the rules were further suspended and the bill was read a third time, passed, and sent to the House of Representatives for concurrence.

On motion of Senator Howard, the special order for Tuesday next, at 11.30 A. M., it being the concurrent resolution in regard to the treaty for arbitration pending before the Senate of the United States, was taken from the table and considered at the present time and, on motion of the same Senator, this concurrent resolution was adopted and sent to the House of Representatives for concurrence.

On motion of Senator Greenleaf, the following resolution was adopted:

Resolved, That when the Senate adjourns this afternoon it adjourn to meet tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock, and when it adjourns tomorrow morning it adjourn to meet next Monday evening at 7.30 o'clock.

On motion of Senator Wallace, the Senate adjourned.

AFTERNOON.

The following entitled bill was read a third time and passed:

An act to authorize towns and cities to act as trustee of cemetery funds in certain cases.

The following entitled bill, having been printed, was taken from the table and ordered to a third reading tomorrow morning and, on motion of Senator Welch, the rules were so far suspended that this bill was read a third time and passed.

An act in amendment of chapter 14 of the Laws of 1893, relating to the settlement of estates by executors, administrators, and assignees.

The following message was received from the House of Representatives by its clerk:

An act to abolish Fast Day and make the nineteenth day of April a legal holiday, to be known as Patriots' Day.

An act to authorize the Bartlett village fire precinct to purchase and maintain a system of water-works.

The following entitled bill, sent up from the House of Representatives, on motion of Senator Scott, was read a first and second time by its title, under a suspension of the rules, and referred to the Committee on Judiciary:

An act to establish the Contoocook Village District, including the Contoocook fire precinct.

No objection being offered, the President ordered a recess of fifteen minutes.
