The principles of this Society are those of purely Mutual Assurance. There are no Proprietors to share in the Profits. The Rates of Premium are moderate; and hitherto the claims upon Life Assurance have been considerably less than were estimated.

Assurances may be made in this Society upon Life to any amount not exceeding £7,500, for Provision in Sickness, for Annuities during early years of Education, for Endowments, &c. &c.

BONUS.

At the end of every Fifth Year profits are equitably apportioned amongst existing Life Assurances. By means of Bonus upwards of Three Hundred of the earlier Life Assurances have been relieved altogether from payments of Annual Premiums and additions made to the sums assured. £200,500 was divided amongst Life Assurances in May, 1866. The next Bonus will be due on 1st June, 1871.

REDUCED ANNUAL PREMIUMS.

The Clergy and all others qualified to make Assurances upon Life in this Society are informed that Assurances upon Life may be made upon payment of Reduced Annual Premiums, viz., upon payment of "four-fiths" of the rates chargeable according to the Table as above, subject to certain conditions.

Applications for Prospectuses, or further information, to be made at the Office.

"This Society is strictly confined to the Clergy of the Church of England, and of the Episcopal Church of Scotland, their wives and families, and the near relations of themselves and wives, and is distinguished from other Institutions by the title of

"THE CLERGY MUTUAL ASSURANCE SOCIETY."

Income £136,013; Assets, £794,108; Sums Assured, £3,217,545. New Business of 1869: Sums Assured, £370,495; New Premiums, £13,293. The Expenses of Management now amount to only Four per cent. on the Income. The realized Profits are ascertained every five years; and Nine-tenths of the whole are divided among the Assured. As considerably more than One-tenth of the Profits is derived from Policies which do not participate in the Profits, it will be seen that the Assured have greater advantages in this Society than if they formed a Mutual Insurance Company, dividing among themselves the whole of the Profits derived from their own Policies.

The Premiums are calculated for every half-year of age.

The Conditions of the Policies allow persons whose lives are insured to reside er travel in any part of the world distant more than 33 degrees from the Equator. Policies in the hands of third parties are not vitiated by suicide, or by the life assured transgressing the stipulated limits.

Policies are granted in conformity with the Married Women's Property Act, for the benefit of the wife and children of the Assured, which Policies are not subject to the control of Creditors.

The Business of the Society includes the Purchase and the Granting of Loans upon the security of Life Interests and Reversions; also the Granting of Immediate Annuities.

The usual commission allowed to Solicitors on all Policies introduced by them. The Annual Reports of the Directors are regularly printed, with full accounts of the Receipts and Expenditure, and may be obtained by written or personal application at the Office.

Solicitor-Harry Shoubridge, Esq., 1, Lincoln's Inn Fields, W.C.

The business of this Company consists in the PURCHASE of, or LOANS uponREVERSIONARY INTERESTS, vested or contingent, in Landed or Funded Property, or Securities; also

LIFE INTERESTS in Possession, as well as in Expectation; and

POLICIES OF INSURANCE upon LIVES.

Loans upon Reversions may be obtained either at an annual interest, or, in consideration of deferred charges, payable upon the Reversions falling in.

IMMEDIATE ANNUITIES are likewise granted upon the latter principle to persons entitled to Reversionary Interests, who may thus obtain an income until their property falls into possession, without being called upon for any payment until that event. Prospectuses and Forms of Proposal may be obtained from the Secretary, to whom all communications should be addressed.
