§ 1. Every justice of the peace within his county may hear, try and determine all pleas and actions in which the title to real estate shall not be drawn in question, when the damages demanded do not exceed thirteen dollars and thirtythree cents. R. S. 346, § 1; C. S. 442, § 1.

§ 2. No justice shall be of counsel, nor act as an attorney to either party, nor advise nor assist any party in any case before him. R. S. 347, § 14; C. S. 443, § 14.

[§ 2, 4. A justice of the peace throughout the State has jurisdiction to hear and determine a civil action in any county in the state. Young v. Bride, 5 Foster 482.]
