Ordered, That it be referred to the committee on Bills on their second reading.

Mr. Wentworth from the committee on Agriculture and Manufactures to whom was referred the resolution relating to the taxing of horses, and the resolution in relation to the appraisal of all property for taxation, reported a bill entitled, An act to establish the rates at which polls and rateable estate shall be valued in making direct taxes.

Which was read a first and second time.

On motion of Mr. Wilson of Keene-

Ordered, That said bill lie on the table, and that the Clerk procure two hundred and fifty printed copies of the same, and lay the same before the House.

Mr. Noyes from the select committee to whom was referred the resolution directing them to report what compensation shall be made to the Electors of President and Vice President of the United States, reported a bill entitled, An act providing compensation for the Electoral Board.

Which was read a first and second time.

Mr. Kimball moved to amend the bill by striking out the word "four" as the compensation of door keeper and to insert the word "five."

Which was decided in the negative.

Ordered, That said bill be read a third time.

On motion of Mr. Wilson of Keene

Resolved, That the rules of the House be so far suspended as to permit said bill to be read a third time at the present time. The bill was read a third time.

Resolved, That it pass, and that its title be as aforesaid.

A message from the Senate by their Clerk-

"Mr. Speaker--The Senate have passed a bill entitled, An act relating to the execution of letters or powers of attorney, in which they ask the concurrence of the House of Representatives."

A Message from the Senate by their Clerk.

"Mr. Speaker-The Senate concur with the House of Representatives in the passage of a bill entitled, An act providing a compensation for the Electoral Board."

Mr. Gregg pursuant to notice given yesterday, had leave to introduce a bill entitled, An act to incorporate certain persons by the name of the proprietors of the Young Ladies Sceminary in Derry Village.

Which was read a first and second time.

Ordered That it be referred to the committee on bills on their second reading.

Pursuant to notice given yesterday, Mr. Murray moved, That the vote indefinitely postponing the resolution providing for the distribution of the arms belonging to this State, now in the arsenal, be reconsidered.

Which was decided in the affirmative.

Ordered, That it lie upon the table, and be made the order of the day for to-morrow at 11 o'clock forenoon.

Mr. Skinner pursuant to notice given yesterday had leave to introduce a bill entitled, An act to locate the office of Register of Probate in the county of Cheshire.

Which was read a first and second time.

Ordered, That it be referred to the select committee to consist of the delegation from the county of Cheshire.

Mr. Hunt pursuant to notice given yesterday had leave to introduce a bill entitled, An act in addition to an act empowering school districts to build and repair school houses passed July 6, 1827. Which was read a first and second time.

Ordered, That it be referred to the committee on Education. Mr. Brownson gave notice that he should to-morrow ask leave to introduce a bill entitled, An act to apportion and distribute the arms now in the arsenal at Portsmouth among the militia.

Mr. French from the joint committee on engrossed Bills reported that they have carefully examined bills with the following titles: An act to change the name of North-Effingham,

An act providing compensation to the Electoral Board, and find the same correctly engrossed,

Said bills were signed by the Speaker.

Mr. Corbin pursuant to notice given yesterday had leave to introduce a bill entitled, An act in relation to and in amendment of an act entitled, An act imposing fines for the neglect of military duty and for other purposes.

Mr. Nesmith from the committee on Bills on their second reading to whom was referreed the bill entitled, An act to disannex a part of the town of Warner and annex the same to Bradford; reported the same without amendments, which were read and adopted. On motion of Mr. Harriman-

Mr. Peaslee from the same committee to whom was referred the bill entitled, An act to incorporate certain persons by the name of the Melville Academy, reported the same with an amendment, which was read and adopted.

Mr. Brown, from the select committee, who was directed to inquire as to the expediency of building a fire proof safe, for the security of the public papers, made a report accompanied with the following resolution.

Resolved, That the security of the public papers, requires that a fire proof safe be built where they may be kept, and that a building be erected separate from and coveniently near the State House for that purpose.

Which was read.

On motion of Mr. Wilcox

The House resumed the consideration of the bill which came down from the Senate entitled, An act in addition to an act regulating marriages, and for registering of marriages, births and burials, passed Feb. 15, 1791.

On motion of Mr. Wild-That said bill be indefinitely postponed.

It was decided in the negative.
