On motion of Mr. Laws

The House resumed the consideration of the resolution submitted by Mr. Wilson of Keene, in relation to Military duty together with the amendments to the same, submitted by Mr. Harvey of Sulton.

Mr. Harvey, withdrew his amendments to said resolution.

Mr. Wilkins moved, That the first resolution be amended by striking out the word "not."

Which was decided in the negative.

Mr. Harvey of Sutton moved, That all of said resolution after the word "Resolved," be stricken out and the following inserted "that it is expedient to exempt from military duty all persons who have arrived to the age of forty years and upwards, provided how ever that they shall be enrolled and liable to be detached for duty when called by the Government.

Which passed in the affirmative.

The House proceeded to the consideration of the second resolution, which was read.

Mr. Rogers moved, That said resolution be amended by striking out the word "two," and inserting the word "three."

Which was decided in the negative.

On motion of Mr. Wilson of Keene

Resolved, That said resolution be indefinitely postponed.

The House proceeded to the consideration of the third resolu tion which was read.

Mr. Laws moved, That the further consideration of this resolution be indefinitely postponed.

On this question, the yeas and nays were required by Mr. Sawyer of Dover.

Mr. Hull moved, That the House do now adjourn.

Which was decided in the negative.

The question recurred, shall the further consideration of this resolution be indefinitely postponed?

Mr. Wilson of Keene moved, to amend said resolution by strik ing out the word "two" and inserting "a."

Mr. French moved, That the further consideration of said resolution be indefinitely postponed.

Which was decided in the negative.

The question recurred, Shall the amendment proposed by Mr. Wilson be adopted?

Which was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. Wilson of Keene moved, That the resolution be further amended by striking out the words "State Treasury," and inserting "towns."

Which was decided in the negative.

And then the House adjourned.

Ordered, That it be referred to the committee on Claims.

Mr. Chamberlain presented the account of M'Farland and Ela.
Ordered, That it be referred to the committee on Printers ac-

counts.

On motion of Mr. Skinner-

Resolved, That the rules of the House be so far suspended as to permit him to introduce a bill.

Mr. Skinner pursuant to such leave introduced a bill entitled, An act making appropriations for the Military department. Which was read a first and second time.

Ordered, That it be read a third time to-morrow at 3 o'clock afternoon.

Mr. Wilson from the committee on Military affairs to whom was referred the bill entitled, An act in addition to and in amendment of an act entitled, An act imposing fines for neglect of Military duty and for other purposes, reported the same without amend

ment.

Ordered, That said bill be read a third time to-morrow at 3 o'clock, afternoon.

Mr. Bisco from the Joint committee on Engrossed Bills, reported that they have presented to His Excellecy the Governor, for his approval the engrossed bills and address which were reported to the House this forenoon.

The House resumed the consideration of the resolution which was under their consideration at the time the House adjourned this forenoon.

On the question, Shall this resolution be adopted?

A message from the Senate by their Clerk-

"Mr. Speaker--The Senate concur with the House of Representatives in the passage of a bill entitled, An act to distribute among the several towns in this State, the three per cent stock due this state from the United States with certain amendments, in which they ask the concurrence of the House of Representatives."

The House proceeded to the consideration of the amendments proposed by the Senate to the aforesaid bill, which was read. On motion of Mr. Wilson of Keene

Resolved, That the House disagree to the amendments proposed by the Senate to said bill.

Ordered, That the Clerk inform the Senate thereof.
