The following message in writing was recieved from His Excellency the Governor by the Secretary of State which was read and is as follows.

December 29, 1832.

To the Senate and House of Representatives

I have received from His Excellency the Governor of the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a copy of certain resolutions recently adopted by the Legislature of that State relative to the union of the States, and the constitution of the United States which I herewith communicate.

Which was read.

On motion of Mr. Putnam of Cornish.

SAMUEL DINSMOOR.

Ordered, That the message of His Excellency the Governor, with the accompaning resolutions, be referred to a select committee to consist of five persons.

Ordered, That Messs. Gove of Goffstown, Newell of Barnstead, Clark, Brown of East-Kingston, and Skinner be the committee. On motion of Mr. Symmes

The House resumed the consideration of the bill entitled, An act relating to steudnts at Colleges.

Mr. Hale withdrew the amendment proposed by him on Thursday last.

Ordered, That said bill be read a third time on Monday next at 3 o'clock afternoon.

On motion of Mr. Atwood

The House resumed the consideration of the resolution in relation to the distribution of the three per cent stock, now due from the United States.

Mr. Carroll moved, That the further consideration of said resolution be postponed to the next session of the Legislature.

Mr. Chase of Northfield moved, That the resolution be amended by striking out the words "several towns," and inserting revolutionary soldiers.

Mr. Hale moved, That the resolution and amendment lie on the table.

Which was decided in the negative.

The question recurred, Shall the amendment proposed by Mr. Chase of Northfield, be adopted.

It was decided in the negative.

Resolved, That said resolution pass.

Mr. Sawyer of Dover, gave notice that he should on Tuesday next, move for the reconsideration of the vote on the question of ordering to a third reading the bill entitled, "An act to incorporate sundry persons, by the name of the Francestown Bank, having voted with the majority on that question.

Mr. Alden, gave notice that he should on Monday next, ask leave to introduce a bill entitled, An act to incorporate the Trustees of Lebanon Academy.

Mr. Wilkins moved, That when the House adjourn this forenoon, they adjourn to meet on Monday next, at 3 o'clock, afternoon. Which was decided in the negative.

Pursuant to notice given yesterday, Mr. Hale had leave to introduce a bill entitled, An act to incorporate sundry persons, by the name of the President, Directors and Company of the Mechanics' Bank.

On motion of Mr. Hale

Ordered, That the further consideration of said bill, be postponed to the next session of the Legislature.

And then the House adjourned.

AFTERNOON.

The House proceeded to the order of the day, on the resolution granting a copy of the revised statutes to the town of Erroll. Which was read a third time.

Resolved, That it pass.

Ordered, That the Clerk request the concurrence of the Senate therein.

The House proceeded to the order of the day on the following

bills.

An act regulating the mode of putting pine timber into Connecticut River.

An act authorizing selectmen, to tax the rateable estate of legatees and wards, in the hands of executors, administrators, trustees and guardians.

An act to alter the names of certain persons.

Which were severally read a third time.

Resolved, That they pass and that their titles be as aforesaid.

Ordered, That the Clerk request the concurrence of the Senate therein.

The House proceeded to the order of the day, on the bill entitled, An act to establish the rates, at which polls and rateable estate shall be assessed in making direct taxes.

Which was read a third time.

On motion of Mr. Aldrich-

Ordered, That said bill lie on the table.

On motion of Mr. Hale—

The House resumed the consideration of the

resolution as to

the expediency of raising fifty thousand dollars by lottery. On the question, Shall this resolution pass?

It was decided in the negative.

On motion of Mr. Griffin

The House resumed the consideration of the bill entitled, An act to promote the increase of sheep.

On motion of Mr. Bridgman-

Resolved, That said bill be indefinitely postponed.

On motion of Mr. Harvey of Sutton-

The House resumed the consideration of the resolution in relation to the building of a fire proof safe, for the security of the State records.

On motion of Mr. Harvey

Ordered, That the further consideration of said resolution be postponed to the next session of the Legislature.

Mr. Simpson, from the committee on Military accounts, to whom was referred the petition of Daniel Russell by leave of the House, made a report, whereupon,

Resolved, That the further consideration of said petition be postponed to the next session of the Legislature.

Mr. Hale moved, That when the House adjourn this afternoon, they adjourn to meet on Monday next, at 3 o'clock afternoon. Which was decided in the negative.

On motion of Mr. Harvey of Sutton-

The House resumed the consideration of the resolution in relation to the performance of Military duty.

Mr. Harvey, moved sundry amendments as a substitute for said resolution.

Which were read

On motion of Mr. Harvey of Sutton-

Ordered, That said resolution together with the amendments lie on the table.

And then the House adjourned.

MONDAY, DEC. 31, 1832.

Mr. Wild presented the petition of Nathaniel Prince and others, in relation to the apointment of superintending school committees.
