Mr. Lamprey moved certain amendments to said bill which were read.

On motion of Mr. Gove of Goffstown--'

Ordered, That said bill and amendments lie on the table.

Pursuant to notice given yesterday Mr. Barnes had leave to introduce a bill entitled, An act directing the publication of the laws in certain Newspapers.

Which was read a first and second time.

Mr. Rogers moved that the bill be amended by inserting after the word "Haverhill" the words "and all other Newspapers in this State."

Which was decided in the negative.

Mr. Wilcox moved that the bill be amended by inserting after the word "Haverhill" the words "and in the New-Hampshire Statesman and State Journal" printed at Concord.

Which amendment was read and adopted.

Ordered, That said bill be read a third time on Monday next at 10 o'clock, forenoon.

Mr. Kent of Concord by leave of the House, presented the petition of Abel Baker and others.

The petition of Milen Kimball and others.

The petition of Sherburne W. Elliot and others.

The petition of Albe Cady and others, all in relation to the incorporation of the proprietors of the Sewall's Falls Bridge.

Ordered, That they be referred to the committee on Roads, Bridges and Canals.

On motion of Mr. Hale, the House resumed the consideration. of the resolution in favor of Otis Stackpole.

Mr. Wentworth moved to amend the resolution by striking out after the word "hundred" the words "and fifty."

Which was decided in the negative.

Mr. Bridgman moved, That said resolution be indefinitely postponed.

On this question the yeas and nays were required, by Mr. Aldrch. Those who voted in the affirmative are

So the resolution was indefinitely postponed.

A message from the Senate by their Clerk

"Mr. Speaker--The Senate concur with the House of Repre

sentatives in the passage of a bill entitled, An act to incorporate the President, Directors and Company of the Lancaster Bank.

They do not concur with the House, in the passage of a bill entitled, An act in addition to an act entitled, an act empowering school districts to build and repair school houses, passed July 6,

1827."

Mr. French moved, That the bill entitled, An act to incorporate sundry persons by the name of the President, Directors and Company of the State bank, which by order of the House was laid on the table, be now taken up.

Which was decided in the negative.

On motion of Mr. Barnes

The House resumed the consideration of the report of the select committee, appointed during the last session of the Legislature, to appraise the tools, stock, &c. of the New-Hampshire State Prison.

Mr. Rogers moved, That the Clerk be directed to procure five hundred printed copies of said report, and the same number of copies of the accompaning documents.

But before the question was taken.

The House adjourned.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 26, 1832. Mr. Newell of Barnstead, presented the petition of Israel Tebbets Jr., for the alteration of his name.

Ordered, That it be referred to the committee on the Alteration of Names.

A message from the Senate by their Clerk

"Mr. Speaker-The Senate concur with the House of Representatives, in the passage of a resolution accepting the report of the select committee, to whom was referred so much of the Governor's message as relates to "certain new and dangerous opinions in regard to the respective powers, of the General and State governments."

Mr. Gove, from the committee on Roads, Bridges and Canals, to whom was referred sundry petitions in relation to the Sewall's Falls Bridge, and also a bill entitled, An act to incorporate the Proprietors of Sewell's Falls Bridge, reported said bill without amendment.

Ordered, That said bill be read a third time to-morrow at 10 o'clock forenoon.

Mr. Webster, from the select committee, to whom was referred so much of the Governor's message as relates to an Insane hospital, reported a bill entitled, An act to provide for the establishment of the New Hampshire Asylum for the Insane.

Which was read a first and second time.

On motion of Mr. Wilkins

Ordered, That it lie on the table.

Mr. Dodge, from the select joint committee, to whom was refer

red the resolution directing them to report, at what time the present session of the Legislature may be closed, made a report, accompanied with the following resolutions.

Resolved, That the business of the present session may close on Tuesday, the third day of January next, and that the Clerk be directed to make up the pay roll accordingly.

Which was read

On motion of Mr. Dodge-

Ordered, That it lie on the table.

Mr. French, gave notice that he should to-morrow ask leave to introduce a bill entitled, An act to incorporate the Newport Manufacturing Company.

Mr. Nesmith, from the committee on Bills on their second reading, to whom was referred the bill entitled, An act in addition to an act entitled, an act empowering the inhabitants of the town of Portsmouth, to appoint health officers, and for preventing nuisances in said town, reported the same without amendment.

Ordered, That said bill be read a third time to-morrow at 10 o'clock, forenoon.

On motion of Mr. Hale-

The House resumed the consideration of the bill entitled, An act to incorporate sundry persons by the name of the President, Directors and Company of the State bank.

Mr. Smith of Rochester moved, That the further consideration of said bill, be postponed to the next session of the Legislature, But before the question was taken,

Mr. Wilcox moved, That the further consideration of said bill, be indefinitely postponed.

On the question, the yeas and nays were required by Mr. Peaslee. Those who voted in the affirmative are

On motion of Mr. French-

Resolved, That the operation of the resolution passed since the commencement of this session suspending that portion of the 37th rule which relates to the third reading of bills and resolutions now

Mr. Dickinson pursuant to notice given yesterday had leave to introduce a bill entitled, An act regulating the mode of putting pine timber into Connecticut River.
