Resolved, That the committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire whether the public interest requires the removal of any officer holding any office of trust or profit, in this State, and that they report by address or otherwise.

MONDAY, DEC. 24, 1832. Mr. Stearns presented the petition of William Stearns, for the re moval of an officer in the second regiment.

A message from the Senate by their Clerk

"Mr. Speaker--The Senate agree to the amendment proposed by the House to the bill entitled, An act to establish a corporation by the name of the Boston and Ontario Rail Road Company." On motion of Mr. Waldron

Resolved, That the committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of passing a law, for the more equal distribution of the property of insolvent debtors, and that they report by bill or otherwise.

Mr. Gregg introduced the following resolution.

Resolved, by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened, That the Secretary of State, be directed to furnish one of Carrigain's maps, for the use of the Young Ladies

Seminary in Derry Village, and that the proprietor be compensat ed therefor out of the treasury.

Ordered, That it be read a third time to-morrow at 10 o'clock, forenoon.

Mr. Eastman introduced the following resolution.

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives in Gen- ' eral Court convened, That the Secretary of State be and he is hereby authorized and directed to furnish and deliver to the town of Carroll, one of Carrigain's maps of the State of New-Hampshire, at the expense of said State.

Resolved, That this House hold two sessions each day in future, commencing at 10 o'clock forenoon, and 3 o'clock afternoon until otherwise ordered.

Resolved, That the committee on the Judiciary, be instructed to inquire into the expediency of so altering the law as to make the crime of murder punishable by imprisonment and hard labor for life, except in certain cases, and report by bill or otherwise.

Mr. Folsom presented the petition of John Horn and others for the alteration of their names.

Mr. Fellows of Gilmanton presented the petition of Stephen L. Greely and others for a Bank to be located at Gilmanton Centre Village.

Ordered, That said petition be referred to the committee on Banks.

Mr. Peavey presented the petition of Charles Cutter and others

for the incorporation of the first Methodist Society in Tuftonborough.

Ordered, That said petition be referred to the committee on incorporations.

Mr. Waldron from the committee on Banks to whom was referred the bill entitled, 'An act in addition to an act entitled, An act directing the returns of statements every year from the several banking corporations in this State made a report whereupon,

Resolved, That the further consideration of said bill be indefinitely postponed.

Mr. Waldron from the same committee to whom was referred the petition of the Granite Bank made a report accompanied with the following resolution.

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened, That the commissioners of the Literary Fund be and they are hereby authorized to remit so much of the tax which may be payable by the President, Directors and Company of the Granite Bank to said Literary Fund on the second Wednesday of June, 1833, as shall amount to the sum of 125 dollars. Which was read a first and second time.

On the question, Shall said resolution be read a third time, It was decided in the negative.

So the resolution was rejected.

Mr. Waldron from the same committee to whom was referred the bill entitled, An act to incorporate sundry persons by the name of the President, Directors and Company, of the State Bank reported the same without amendment.

Mr. Skinner pursuant to notice given on Friday last, now moved that the vote passed on Friday last indefinitely postponing the bill entitled, An act for the suppression of frauds and cheats, be reconsidered.

Which was decided in the affirmative.

The question resumed on the adoption of the amendment proposed by Mr. Brownson, That the bill be amended by adding a second section.

Which was decided in the negative.

Mr. Murray moved, That the bill be amended by inserting the words "in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty-two.

A message from the Senate by their Clerk

"Mr. Speaker-The Senate concur with the House of Represenatives, in the passage of a resolution approving of the sentiments contained in the proclamation of the President of the United States, dated December 10, 1832, and also the general measures of his administration.

They have also passed a resolution in relation to the revision of the constitution in which they ask the concurrence of the House." The House proceeded to the consideration of the resolution which came down from the Senate in relation to a revision of the constitution, which is as follows:

Resolved, by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened, That His Excellency the Governor, be and he hereby is requested to issue his precepts to the Selectmen of the several towns and places in this State, directing them to insert an article in the warrants for the next annual town meeting, for the choice of State and county officers, to take the sense of the qual ified voters on the subject of a revision of the constitution and made due return of the same agreeably to the provisions of the constitution.

Which was read a first and second time.

Ordered, That said resolution, be referred to the committee on the Judiciary.

On motion of Mr. Chamberlain-

The House resumed the consideration of the resolution introduced on the seventh instant, by Mr. Wilson of Keene, in relation to the enrollment of the Miltia, in relation to regimental musters and in relation to annual company trainings.

And after some time spent therein,

The House adjourned.
