Met according to adjournment.

Mr. Williams, from the committee on Engrossed Bills, reported that they had examined and find correctly engrossed, bills with the following titles viz:

"An act to sever a certain tract of land from the town of NewChester, and annex the same to the town of Wilmot."

"An act to annex Winslow's Location to Piercy."

"An act allowing compensation to John H. White and others." "An act to incorporate certain persons by the name of the Melville Academy."

"An act to incorporate certain persons by the name of the proprietors of the Young Ladies Seminary in Derry Village."

"An act to revive the act establishing a corporation by the name of the Walpole Manufacturing Company, approved June 20, 1817." "An act to repeal the Charter of the proprietors of the Rindge Turnpike Road in New-Hampshire."

"An act to incorporate the Aquedocton Cotton Mill Company." "An act to incorporate Israel's River Manufacturing Company." "An act allowing compensation to the Selectmen of Shelburne and others."

"An act to incorporate sundry persons by the name of the Wentworth Mechanic Association."

"An act in addition to, and in amendment of an act passed June 26, 1817, incorporating the first Congregational Society in Gil

manton."

"An act to incorporate Colebrook Academy," also "A resolution in favor of the town of Lincoln."

"A resolution in favor of French & Brown."

"A resolution in favor of Abel Crawford." And

"A resolution directing the Secretary to procure New-Hampshire and New-York Reports for the State Library."

Mr. Handerson, from the committee on the Judiciary, to whom was referred the bill entitled, "An act regulating attachments on mense process," reported the said bill without amendment, and recommended that the Senate do not concur in the passage thereof. On motion by Mr. Handerson

Ordered, That said bill lie on the table.'

On motion by Mr. Burns-

The Senate adjourned.

FRIDAY, DEC. 21, 1832.

Met according to adjournment.

Mr. Handerson, from the committee on the Judiciary, to whom was referred the bill entitled, "An act in addition to an act entitled an act empowering School Districts to build and repair School Houses, passed July 6, 1827," reported the same without amend

ment.

Mr. Whittemore moved, that the bill be indefinitely postponed.
On the question, Shall the bill be indefinitely postponed ?
It was determined in the negative.

On motion by Mr. Whittemore-

Ordered, That said bill lie on the table.

A message from the House of Representatives by their Clerk. "Mr. President: The House of Representatives have passed a bill, entitled "An act to incorporate a Company by the name of the New-Hampshire Bridge," in which they request the concurrence of the Senate."

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, having signed the thirteen bills and four resolutions, last reported by the committee on Engrossed Bills, as correctly engrossed, I am directed to bring them to the Senate for the signature of their President."

And he withdrew.

The President of the Senate signed the said bills and resolutions, and they were delivered to the committee on Engrossed Bills, to be laid before His Excellency the Governor.

The bill entitled, "An act to incorporate a Company by the name of the New-Hampshire Bridge," was read a first and second time.

Ordered, That the same be referred to the committee on Incorporations.

SATURDAY, DEC. 22, 1832.

Met according to adjournment.

A message from the House of Representatives, by their Clerk. "Mr. President-The House of Representatives concur with the Hon. Senate, in the passage of a bill, entitled "An act to establish the Boston and Ontario Rail Road Corporation, with an amendment, in which they request the concurrence of the Senate. They have also passed a resolution approving of the sentiments contained in the Proclamation of the President of the United States, dated Dec. 10, 1832, and in the general measures of his

administration, in which they requert the concurrence of the Senate."

And he withdrew.

The Senate proceeded to consider the bill, entitled "An act to establish the Boston and Ontario Rail Road Corporation," with the amendment proposed by the House of Representatives.

On the question, Will the Senate agree to the said amendment, viz: At the end of the 11th section, add the following words: "And when any public highway shall hereafter be laid out, by order of the Court of Common Pleas, across said Rail Road, said Corporation, being thereto required in writing by the Selectmen of the town, where such highway may cross said Rail Road, shall make such alteration in said Rail Road as may be necessary to the proper construction of said highway, and the convenient and safe use thereof. And in case said Corporation shall lower said Rail Road, so that such highway shall pass over the same, said Corporation shall construct at their own expense, such bridges and abutments as may be necessary for the purpose aforesaid, and the same constantly maintain and keep in repair."

On motion by Mr. Whittemore

Resolved, That said bill and amendment be referred to the com. mittee on the Judiciary.

It was determined in the negative.

On the question, Will the Senate agree to said amendment.
It was determined in the affirmative.

Ordered, That the Clerk notify the House of Representatives accordingly.

The resolution relating to the Presidents' Proclamation was read, and is as follows:

"Resolved, by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened, That the sentiments contained in the Proclamation of the President of the United States, dated Dec. 10, 1832, meet with the entire approbation of this Legislature, and that we hail in these sentiments and in the general measures of his administration, and particularly in the salutary exercise of his Veto, a chief Executive Magistrate, whose devoted patriotism and moral courage, are equal to any crisis, and under the guidance of whose wisdom the ancient land marks of the constitution will be preserved, and the confidence reposed in him as manifested in his recent election by a vast majority of the American people, will be fully justified. And resolved further, that the Secretary of State, be directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to the President of the United States, and to each of our delegates in Congress, and the Governor of each State in the Union."

On motion by Mr. Carr-

Ordered, That said resolution lie on the table.

A bill entitled, An act to incorporate the Dover Lyceum.

A bill entitled, An act to incorporate the President, Directors and Company of the Lancaster Bank-In which bills they ask the concurrence of the Senate."

And he withdrew.

The bill entitled, An act to incorporate the Dover Lyceum, was read a first and second time.

Ordered, That it be referred to the committee on Schools and Seminaries of Learning.

The bill entitled, An act to incorporate the President, Directors and Company of the Lancaster Bank, was read a first and second time.

Ordered, That the same be referred to the committee on Banking Institutions.

A message from the House of Representatives by their Clerk. "Mr. President--The House of Representatives have passed a bill, entitled An act regulating the survey of sawed clapboards and shingles-In which they request the concurrence of the Senate."

And he withdrew.

A bill entitled, An act regulating the survey of sawed clapboards and shingles, was read a first and second time.

Ordered, That the same be referred to the committee on the Judiciary.

Resolved, That when the Senate adjourn, it be to meet again t three o'clock in the afternoon on Monday next.

Mr. Jackson, from the committee on Schools and Seminaries of Learning, to whom was referred the bill entitled, An act to incor porate the Dover Lyceum, reported the same without amendment. On the question, Shall the bill be read a third time?

It was determined in the affirmative.

Mr. Handerson, from the committee on the Judiciary, to whom was referred the bill entitled, An act regulating the survey of sawed clapboards and shingles, reported the same without amendment. On the question, Shall the bill be read a third time?

The bill entitled, An act to incorporate the Dover Lyceum, was read a third time.

Resolved, That it pass.

Ordered, That the Clerk notify the House of Representatives accordingly.

The bill entitled, An act regulating the survey of sawed clapboards and shingles, was read a third time.

Mr. Carr, from the committee on Incorporations, to whom was referred the bill entitled, An act to incorporate a company by the name of the New Hampshire Bridge, reported the same without amendment.

The resolution, relating to the revision of the Constitution, was taken up and considered.

It was determined in the affirmative.

Resolved, That during the remainder of the session, or until otherwise ordered, the Senate will meet at ten o'clock in the forenoon, and at three o'clock in the afternoon of each day.

A message from the House of Representatives, by their Clerk. "Mr. President--The House of Representatives, have passed a resolution granting one of Carrigain's maps to the town of Carroll, in which they request the concurrence of the Senate."

And he withdrew.
