Ordered, That the Clerk notify the House of Representatives accordingly.

Mr. Knowlton, from the committee appointed to provide some suitable place for the College of Electors of President and VicePresident of the United States to hold their meeting, and inform them thereof; reported that the committee had attended to the duty assigned them.`

A Message from the College Electors of President and VicePresident of the United States, by Col. Cyrus Barton, their Secretary.

"Mr. President-I have a communication from the College of Electors of President and Vice-President of the United States, which I am directed to present to the Senate."

And he withdrew.

The communication above mentioned was read, and is as follows:

To the Honorable the Legislature of New-Hampshire. CONCORD, DEC. 4, 1832. The undersigned, being appointed Electors of President and Vice-President of the United States, are now present in this town, and accept the appointment.

The bill entitled, "An act in addition to, and amendment of an act entitled "An act to declare the Jurisdiction of the Court of Common Pleas, and of the Superior Court of Judicature, and to regulate the proceedings in the same courts, passed June 2, 1829,"was taken up and considered.

Said bill was read a first and second time.

Ordered, That the same be referred to the committee on the Judiciary.

On motion by Mr. Jackson-

The Senate adjourned.

Mr. Williams from the committee on the Judiciary, to whom was referred the bill entitled, "An act relating to mortgages and pledges. of personal property & property subject to any lien created by law,

reported the same with the following amendments, viz. In the third line of the third section, after the word "person" insert the words "having a debt or demand against the mortgagor or pledgor."

Also in the fifth line of the third section, after the word "render" insert the words "in writing on oath."

The first of said amendments proposed by the committee being under examination,

The bill entitled "An act relating to the execution of letters or power of attorney," was read a third time.

A message from the House of Representatives by their Clerk. "Mr. President-The House of Representatives concur with

the Senate in their amendment proposed to the bill, entitled " An act relating to mortgages and pledges of personal property, and property subject to any lien created by law."

They have also passed a bill, entitled "An act providing compensation for the Electoral Board."

And he withdrew.

Said bill was read a first and second time.

Ordered, That the same be referred to the committee on claims. Mr. Knowlton, from the committee on claims, to whom was referred the bill, entitled "An act providing compensation for the Electoral Board," reported the same without amendment. On the question, Shall this bill be read a third time?

It was determined in the affirmative.

Resolved, That the Rules of the Senate be so far suspended that said bill be read a third time at the present time. Whereupon said bill was read a third time.

A message from the House of Representatives by their Clerk. "Mr. President,--The House of Representatives concur with the Senate in the passage of the bill, entitled "An act to incorporate the Portsmouth Iron Foundry Company."

They have also passed a bill, entitled "An act to incorporate certain persons by the name of the "First Free-Will Baptist Society in Sandwich"--in which they request the concurrence of the Senate."

And he withdrew.

Said bill was read a first and second time.

Ordered, That the same be referred to the committee on Incorporations.

Mr. Drown, from the committee on Engrossed Bills, reported, That they had examined and found correctly engrossed bills with the following titles, viz:

"An act providing compensation for the Electoral Board." And "An act to change the name of the town of North-Effingham."

A message from the House of Representatives by their Clerk. "Mr. President: The Speaker of the House of Representatives having signed the two bills last reported by the committee on Engrossed Bills as correctly engrossed, I am directed to bring them to the Senate for the signature of their President."

And he withdrew.

The President signed the said bills, and they were delivered to the committee on Engrossed Bills, to be laid before his Excellency the Governor.

The bill, entitled "An act to incorporate certain persons by the name of the "First Free-Will Baptist Society in Sandwich," was read a third time.

They have also passed a bill, entitled "An act to revive the act establishing a corporation by the name of the Walpole Manufacturing Company, approved June 20, 1817." Also, a resolution in favor of Messrs. French & Brown; in which bills and resolutions they request the concurrence of the Senate."

The bill, entitled "An act in addition to and amendment of an act, entitled an act to declare the jurisdiction of the Court of Common Pleas and of the Superior Court of Judicature, and to regulate the proceedings in the same Courts, passed June 2, 1829," was read a third time.
