SATURDAY, NOV. 24, 1832.

Met according to adjournment.

Mr. Whittemore from the joint committee appointed to wait on the Rev. Samuel Kelley, and notify him of his election as Chaplain, reported that the committee had attended to the duty assigned them, and that Mr. Kelley had signified his acceptance of the appointment.

A message from the House of Representatives by their Clerk. "Mr. President-The House of Representatives have passed a bill entitled, An act to authorize Registers of Probate to adjourn courts of Probate in certain cases."

And he withdrew.

Said bill was read a first & second time.

Ordered, That the same be referred to the committee on the Judiciary.

A message from the House of Representatives by their Clerk. "Mr. President-The House of Representatives have passed a resolution appointing Messrs. Weeks, Prentiss and Towle of Hampton, with such as the Senate may join a committee to wait on his Excellency the Governor and the Hon. Council, and inform them of the time of prayers, in which they request the concurrence of the Senate."

And he withdrew.

On motion by Mr. Whittemore

Resolved, That the Senate do concur in the appointmemt of a committee agreeably to the said resolution.

Ordered, That Mr. Jackson be joined to said committee on the part of the Senate.

Ordered, That the Clerk notify the House of Representatives accordingly.

Mr. Anderson from the committee on the Judiciary to whom was referred the bill entitled, An act to authorize Registers of Pro.bate to adjourn Courts of Probate in certain cases, reported the same without amendment.

On the question, Shall this bill be read a third time?

It was determined in the affirmative.

On motion by Mr. Whittemore-

Resolved, That the rules of the Senate be so far suspended, that said bill be read a third time at the present time. Whereupon said bill was read a third time.

Resolved, That it pass.

Ordered, That the Clerk notify the House of Representatives accordingly.

Pursuant to notice given yesterday, Mr. Drown had leave to introduce a bill entitled, "An act to incorporate the Portsmouth Iron Foundry Company."

Said bill was read a first and second time.

Ordered, That the same be referred to the committee on Incorporations.

Resolved, That when the Senate adjourn this forenoon, it be to to meet again at three o'clock afternoon, on Monday next.

Mr. Jackson from the committee appointed to wait on his Excellency the Governor and Honorable Council, and inform them of the time of prayers, reported that they had attended to the duty assigned them.

MONDAY, NOV. 26, 1832. Met according to adjournment. Mr. Drown from the committee on engrossed Bills, reported, That they had examined and found correctly engrossed a Bill entitled "An act to authorise Registers of Probate to adjourn Courts of Probate in certain

cases."

A Message from the House of Representatives by their Clerk"Mr. President,--The Speaker of the House of Representatives, having signed the Bill, entitled "An Act to authorise Registers of Probate to adjourn Courts of Probate in certain cases," which has been reported by the committee on Engrossed Bills, as correctly engrossed, I am directed to bring it to the Senate for the Signature of their President."

And he withdrew.

The President of the Senate signed the said bill, and it was delivered to the committee on Engrossed Bills to be laid before his Excellency the Governor.

Mr. Whittemore from the committee on Incorporations to whom was referred the Bill entitled "An Act to incorporate the Portsmouth Iron Foundry Company," reported the same without amendment.

On the question shall this Bill be read a third time?
It was determined in the affirmative.

TUESDAY, NOV. 27, 1832.

Met according to adjournment.

The Bill entitled "An Act to incorporate the Portsmouth Iron Foundry Company," was read a third time.

Resolved, That it pass-

Ordered, That the Clerk notify the House of Representatives accordingly.

Mr. Williams gave notice that he should to-morrow at eleven o'clock, ask leave to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to incorporate a Company by the name of Israel River Manufacturing Company.

Mr. Carr, from the committee on unfinished business, made the following Report.

The committee on unfinished business, ask leave to report,That a bill entitled "An Act to establish the Boston and Ontario Rail-Road company." Also, "An Act in addition to, and in amendment of An Act entitled "An Act to declare the jurisdiction of the courts of common Pleas and of the Superior courts of Judicature and to regulate the proceedings in the same Courts," passed January 2, 1829—Also, An Act in addition to "An Act for the punishment of certain crimes by solitary imprisonment and confinement to hard labor"-Also, "An Act in addition to an Act regulating marriages, births and burials," passed February 15, 1791. Also, "An Act to annex Winslow's Location to Piercy; and also "An Act giving further remedies in equity"--were particularly acted upon at the last session of the Lagislature,--and the further consideration of the same postponed to the present session.

Ordered, That the said report lie upon the table.

Mr. Burns from the select committee appointed to report references of the several subjects contained in the Message of his Excellency the Governor, reported the following Resolution,-

Resolved, That so much of the Message as relates to the valu-ation of estates in this State be referred to a select committee of five. That so much thereof as relates to deaf and dumb, and insane persons, be referred to the standing committee on Schools and Seminaries of Learning.

On motion by Mr. Whittemore

The said resolution was adopted.

Ordered, That the committee on so much of the Governor's Message as relates to the 3 per cent stock consist of Messrs. Drown, Jackson and Knowlton.

Ordered, that the committee on so much of the Governor's message as relates to the valuation of Estates consist of Messrs. Wil

liams, Harrington, Bartlett, Handerson and Carr.

On motion by Mr. Whittemore-

The Senate adjourned.

On motion by Mr. Drown-

The bill entitled "An Act to establish the Boston and Ontario

Rail Road Company," was taken up and considered.

Said bill was read a first and second time.

Ordered, That the same be referred to the committee on the Judiciary.

On motion by Mr. Wilkins-

The bill entitled, An act to annex Winslow's Location to Piercy, was taken up and considered.

Said bill was read a first and second time.

Ordered, That the same be referred to the committee on the Judiciary.

On motion by Mr. Bartlett

The Senate adjourned.

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 28, 1832.

Met according to adjournment.

In pursuance of notice given yesterday, Mr. Williams had leave to introduce a bill entitled, "An act incorporating Israel's River Manufacturing Company."

Said bill was read a first and second time.

Ordered, That the same be referred to the committee on Manufacturing Establishments.

Mr. Handerson from the committee on the Judiciary to whom was referred the bill entitled, "An act to annex Winslow's Location to Piercy," reported the same without amendment.

The bill entitled, "An act giving further remedies in Equity," was taken up and considered..

Said bill was read a first and second time.

On motion by Mr. Burns

The bill entitled, "An act in addition to an act for the punishment of certain crimes by solitary imprisonment and confinement to hard labor, passed Jan. 2, 1823, was taken up and considered. Said bill was read a first and second time.

Ordered, That the same be referred to the committee on the Judiciary.

On motion by Mr. Whittemore

The bill entitled, "An act in addition to an act regulating unarriages and for the registering marriages, birthe aud burials, passed Feb. 15, 1791, was taken up and considered.

Said bill was read a first and second time.

Ordered, That the same be referred to the committee on the Judiciary.

On motion by Mr. Drown

The Senate adjourned.

AFTERNOON.

Met according to adjournment.

The bill entitled "An act to annex Winslow's Location to Piercy" was read a third time.

Resolved, That it pass.

Ordered, That the clerk notify the House of Representatives accordingly,

Mr. Handerson from the committee on the Judiciary, to whom was referred the bill entitled "An act to establish the Boston and Ontario Rail Road corporation," reported the same with an amend

ment.

On the question, Will the Senate agree to the amendment propo sed by the committee, viz. at the end of the twelfth section of the bill insert the following words: "Provided however, and the true intent and meaning of the foregoing is that no other Rail Road within the time aforesaid, shall be authorized, running parallel with, or intended as a substitute for the road aforesaid,within said distance of five miles. But the Legislature may authorize the building of any other Rail Road or Roads connecting with, or passing across the road hereby authorized, any thing in this article to the contrary notwithstanding."

It was determined in the aflirmative.

On the question, Shail the bill as amended, be read a third time? It was determined in the affirmative.

A message from the House of Representatives by their Clerk. "Mr. President-The House of Representatives have passed a resolution appointing Messrs. Buzzell, Albee, and Chase of Poplin, with such as the Senate may join, a committee to prepare some suitable place in which the Electors of President and Vice President of the United States may mect, and inform them thereof.They have also passed a bill entitled, An act to alter the time of holding a term of the Court of common Pleas in the counties of Cheshire and Sullivan. And for altering the times of holding cer tain terms of the Court of Probate at Newport, in the county of Sullivan. In which resolution and bill they request the concurrence of the Senate.

And he withdrew,
