The House proceeded to the consideration of the amendments proposed by the Senate to the bill entitled "An act in addition to an act entitled an act to incorporate sundry persons by the name of the Piscataqua Bank."

Which amendments were severally read and agreed to.

A message from the Senate by their Clerk.

"Mr. Speaker-The Senate concur with the House of Representatives in the passage of a resolution appointing a committee to enquire into and report on the expediency of holding a second session of the legislature the present year, and have on their part joined Mr. Drowne.

They have also postponed to the next session a bill entitled "An act to incorporate the Portsmouth Iron Company."

They also concur with the House of Representatives in the passage. of a bill entitled "An act allowing a certain premium for killing bears, wild cats, crows, and foxes," with certain amendments, in which they ask the concurrence of the House of Representatives.'

The House proceeded to the consideration of the amendments proposed by the Senate to the bill entitled "An act allowing a certain premium for killing bears, wild cats, crows and foxes," which were severally read and agreed to.

Ordered, That the Clerk inform the Senate thereof.

The House proceeded to the order of the day on the bill entitled "An act to incorporate a town be the name of Haven." Which was read a second time.

On motion of Mr. Gove of Goffstown

The bill was amended by striking out the name "Haven," as often as it may occur, and inserting the name "Carroll."

Ordered, That it be read a third time tomorrow at 3 o'clock after

noon.

Pursuant to notice given yesterday, Mr. Wild had leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act making further provisions for laying out highways."

Which was read a first and second time.

Ordered, That it be referred to the committee on Bills on their Second Reading.

Mr. Kimball, from the select committee who were directed to inquire as to the expediency of purchasing a tract of land contiguous to the State prison for the use of that institution, made a report accompanied with the following resolution :

State of New-Hampshire.

In the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty-two, Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened, That the Treasurer of this State be authorized to receive from James Buswell a good and valid conveyance to the State of New-Hampshire, of a certain lot of land situated in Concord, in the county of Merrimack, near the State Prison and on the westerly side of State street, and bounded as follows, viz: beginning on the west side of State street at the northeast corner of the State Prison lot, thence extending northwesterly by said State street about fifteen rods to colony road, so called, thence westwardly by said Colony road about thirty two rods to Nathaniel Abbot's land, thence southerly by said Abbot's land about fifteen rods to a lot belonging to the estate of Richard Porter deceased, thence easterly by said last mentioned lot and by the State's land about thirty two rods to the place begun at, containing three acres more or less, and being all the land that said Buswell has ever owned on the westerly side of State street, and near the State Prison.

And be it further resolved, That the said Treasurer upon receiving a conveyance as aforesaid of the land aforesaid, pay, and he is hereby ordered to pay to the said James Buswell the sum of one thousand and fifty dollars out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, as a full consideration for said land.

Which was read a first time.

Ordered, That it be read a second time tomorrow at 11 o'clock fore

noon.

Mr. Secombe, by leave of the House, presented the petition of Robert Read and others, to be incorporated by the name of the Amherst Steam Mill Company.

Ordered, that it be referred to the committee on Incorporations.
On motion of Mr. French-

Resolved, That a select committee be appointed to take into consideration the expediency of altering and amending the law in relation to the manner of printing the Journals of the legislature, and also the expediency of making provision for procuring the printing of all things. ordered by the Senate or House of Representatives to be printed and that they report by bill or otherwise.

Ordered, That Messrs. French, Chase of Poplin and Prentiss bet the committee.

On motion of Mr. Waldron

Resolved, That Samuel E. Coues have leave of absence during the remainder of the session, and that the Clerk be directed to make up his pay roll accordingly.

Mr. Frost introduced the following resolution.

Resolved, That the selectmen of every town in this State be required to return to the Secretary's office on or before the first day of the next session of the legislature, the number of lunaticks or deranged persons and the number of deaf and dumb in their respective towns, with their several capacities for instruction, and that the Secretary be required to furnish each town with a copy of this resolution.

Mr. Goodrich moved, that the resolution be amended by striking out the words "the number of lunaticks or deranged persons and." Which was decided in the negative.

On motion of Mr. Sawyer of Dover

Ordered, That it be referred to the select committee to whom was referred so much of His Excellency's message as relates to the Insane Hospital.

The following message in writing was received from the His Excellency the Governor by the Secretary of State, which was read and is as follows :

Executive Department,
June 20, 1832,

To the Senate and House of Representatives

I herewith transmit an estimate of the probable receipts and disbursements at the Treasury from June 1 to December 1, 1832. SAMUEL DINSMOOR. Ordered, That it be referred with the accompanying estimate to the committee on Finance.

And then the House adjourned.

AFTERNOON.

Mr. Currier of Chester, by leave of the House, presented the petition of Jesse J. Underhill, for the removal of the Courts in the county of Rockingham, or a division of the counties of Rockingham and Strafford.

On motion of Mr. Hale

That the petition be indefinitely postponed,

It was decided in the negative,

Ordered, That it be referred to the committee on Towns and Parishes.

A message from the Senate by their Clerk.

"Mr. Speaker-The Senate have postponed to the next session of the legislature a bill entitled "An act in addition to an act for the punishment of crimes by solitary imprisonment and confinement to hard labour."

They have also indefinitely postponed a bill entitled "An act against selling unwholesome provisions."

The House proceeded to the order of the day on the resolution in favour of Joseph Hill.

Which was read a third time.

Resolved, That it pass.

Ordered, That the Clerk request the concurrence of the Senate therein.

The House proceeded to the order of the day on bills with the following titles:

"An act in addition to an act entitled an act for laying out highways."

"An act to prevent fraud in the transfer of personal property by mortgage.

The House proceeded to the order of the day on the resolution authorizing an alteration in the seats in the Representatives's Hall. Which was read a third time.

Mr. Page of Gilmanton moved that the further consideration of said resolution be postponed to the next session of the legislature, but before the question was taken,

Mr. Colby of Weare moved that the resolution be indefinitely postponed.
