Mr. Carroll, from the same committee, to which was referred the petion of the proprietors of the New-Hampshire Hotel and Portsmouth Pier for an amendment of their charter, reported a bill entitled "An act supplementary to an act entitled, an act in addition an act passed January 8, 1795, entitled, an act to incorporate certain persons and their associates into a proprietary by the name of the New-Hampshire Hotel and Portsmouth Pier."

Which was read a first and second time.

The following message in writing was received from His Excellency the Governor by the Secretary of State, which was read and is as follows:

In compliance with an act of June 21, 1814, I hereby transmit to you true copies of the returns of the state of the several Banks incorporated within this state, made within the time prescribed by law by the directors of said Banks.

Howe and others, for the incorporation of a social library in Shelburn; the petition of Daniel Upton and others, to be incorporated by the name of the First Musical Society in Wilmot, reported the following resolution. Resolved, That the message from His Excellency the Governor transmitting certain communications from the States of Delaware,Georgia, Missouri, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, Ohio, South Carolina and Virginia, be referred to the Select Committee to which was referred His Excellency's message transmitting resolutions from the State of Maine ;

The message of His Excellency the Governor and accompanying papers in relation to the north-eastern boundary of the State of Maine, be referred to the committee on the Judiciary;

The resolution in relation to the Cheshire Turnpike Corporation, be referred to the committee on Roads, Bridges and Canals.

Mr. French, from the committee on Towns and Parishes, to which was referred the petition of the Selectmen of Langdon, to be disannexed from the county of Sullivan and annexed to the county of Cheshire, made a report, whereupon

Resolved, That the petitioners have leave to withdraw their petition. Mr. Gibson, from the committee on Agriculture and Manufactures, to which was referred the petition of Nathaniel Bachelder and others, and the petition of Joshua Gitchell and others, for a law for the protection of the manufacturers of tin ware, made a report, whereupon

Resolved, That said committee be discharged from the further consideration of said petitions, and that the same be referred to the committee on the Judiciary.

Resolved, That the State Treasurer be directed to lay before the House a statement of the amount of money paid by the State for the education of the deaf and dumb at Hartford, and the amount paid to each state beneficiary.
