Kelly, Esq. and inform him of his clection to the office of Treasu ter of this State, and upon Ralph Metcall, Esq. and inform him of his election to the office of Secretary of State, and upon Joseph Hill, Esq. and inform him of his election to the office of Commissary General, for the ensuing year ; and, if they accept of their several offices, to receive of them the customary bonds, and lay them before the House ; in which they request the concurrence of the Senate."

And he withdrew.
On motion by Mr. Williams,

Resolved, That the Senate do concur in the appointment of a committee agreeably to said resolution.

Ordered, That Mr. Handerson be joined to said committee on the part of the Senate.

Mr. Williams, from the committee appointed to report a reference of the several subjects in the Governor's Message, reported—

That so much of said message as relates to the subject of the State Prison and imprisonment for debt, be referred to the committee on the Judiciary.

That so much as relates to the militia, be referred to the committee on Military Affairs.

That the subject of making further provision for the deaf and dumb, be referred to the committee on Schools and Seminaries of Learning.

And that the subject of providing a hospital for the lunatic and insane, be referred to a select committee.

"Mr. President-The House of Representatives have passed the following resolution, viz.

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened, That the Message of His Excellency the Governor transmitting the statement of the commissioners of the Literary Fund, together with said statement, be placed upon the files in the Secretary's office.”

And he withdrew.

“ Mr. President-The House of Representatives have passed the following bills and resolutions, viz.

A bill entitled An act to incorporate a provident institution in the town of Newmarket to be called the Newmarket Savings Bank.”

A bill entitled An act to incorporate Ichabod Bartlett and others, and their associates, by the name of the Winnipiseogee Steam Boat Company."

A bill entitled " An act in addition to an act entitled an act to incorporate sundry persons by the name of the Rockingham Bank, approved Nov., 5, 1813.” Also,

A resolution granting one copy of the laws of this State and one of Carrigain's maps to the town of North Effingham.

In which bills and resolutions they request the concurrence of the Senate."

And he withdrew.

The resolution last received from the House of Representatives was read a first and second time, and is as follows :

Resolved by the Senate snd House of Representatives in General Court convened, That the Secretary be and hereby is authorised and directed to deliver to the Town Clerk of North Effingham, or his order, a copy of the statute laws, together with one impression of Carrigain's map of New-Hampshire.

Ordered, That the same be referred to the committee on Schools and Seminaries of Learning.

Mr. Drown submitted the following resolution.

Resolved, That the committee on the judiciary be instructed to enquire whether any alteration is necessary in the act entitled An act empowering school districts to build and repair school houses,” passed July 6, 1827, relative to assigning and raising money for that purpose.

Mr. Carr, from the committee on Unfinished Business, reported that "A bill entitled an act in addition to and in amendment of an act entitled an act to declare the Jurisdiction of the court of Common Pleas, and of the Superior Court of Judiceture, and to regulate the proceedings in the same courts, passed January 2, 1829; also, a bill entitled An act for the benefit of towns and places that have exercised corpurate powers for twenty years or more ; and also a resolution from the House of Representatives on the report adopted by the General As-: sembly of the State of Missouri, were partially acted upon the last session of the legislature, and the further consideration of the same postponed to the present session.

On motion by Mr. Whittemore

Ordered, That said report and the accompanying papers lie upon the table.
