The analysis will describe the basic characteristics of the Navy standard computer (AN/UYK-43) and a commercial DTC, the Hewlett-Packard HP-9020C. An overview of the MIL-STDs, MIL-SPECs, and MIL-HDBKs, that establish requirements for developing digital equipment that qualify for full-MIL designation is presented.
